I find it strange that Jack's a "Bruiser" type. I saw him more as a "Mage" type, mostly because he has a magical sword. And after encountering and using magical items and creatures, I think this type would've been perfect for Jack! But hey, Bruiser's still a good type too, given his strength and skills. Also, I did noticed the "Super Sayain" aura appearing during the gameplay trailer and had a hunch it was related to one of his skills.

The classes are based off the way the character plays and it is not based off the lore of the the character

Just because his sword is magic doesn't mean he's magic. Plus "Mage" in this game basically means "Ranged'. I don't know why they don't just go with Ranged since makes more sense.
