Any problems with axle angle or pitman arm

With the setup the owner chose, we ended up getting a drop pitman arm from trail gear as well as the bracket for the steering stabilizer. Steering geometry is about as flat as it gets and it handles really well. You'll have to just see where it lands and go from there using the shackles only. You can call Dr. Z or send him an e-mail and he'll point you in the right direction.

If we lift the shacles do we need to replace with higher shockobservers?

Not sure with just shackles. This has lift springs and shackles and required longer shocks.

How do we determine the right shockabsorbers if you lift to about 20cm high

How did you go about letting your axle down in order to get the distance needed for the shackles to go on without a fight? I have these same shackles and put the fronts on but working on the rear now and realizing they’re not as easy. Did you undo the front bushings as well?

No but the shocks have to be unhooked. The springs should pivot on the front bolts freely unless the bolts are frozen in the bushings.

So shackles only go on one end of the springs and not both ends?

You wouldn't want shackles on both ends of a spring. There would be nothing to locate the axle front to back as the entire spring/axle could move front to back at that point. Fixed pivot point on one end and shackle on the other. In this case, on the front, shackles are on the front of the springs... on the rear, shackles are on the rear of the springs.

@@NotSoGrandGarage I just watched a super cool video on the leaf springs and shackle system which explained everything from length of shackles and how different angles of the shackle affect the spring action. Except he didn't say how you can change the location of the shackle to get those different angles. I looked under my rig and there's only one connection spot available. But whatever.

@rustybaxter9606 In order to do that, you have to relocate the hangers. Depending on how it's setup, you'd have to cut the stock hangers off the frame and move them but there's a fair bit that goes into that.
