In 1967 I was 14 years old, living in Washington State I was became a survivor of Ted Bundy at a local lake. I can tell you when he thought I was dead from drowning his face looked like a demon. Everyone thinks he didn’t start killing until 1974, that would be wrong. He was a born killer. When I escaped, he freaked out. I’ve only told this story one time online. Season 2, episode 2 on Where the Bodies are Buried, by Phil Chalmers. It’s called Ted Bundy Survivors. I’m the second story. I was probably the only one who knew his full name. I’m the one with survivors guilt. Had I told the police I might have put his name on their radar years earlier.

IM SO SORRY this happened to you! I'm so glad that your life was valuable and you survived your attacker. I've looked into the eyes of a psycho. My neighbor. And his girlfriend. Just remember your life is VALUABLE still after all this time. No survivors guilt. Thanks for sharing.

@NicholeW-qz2ml I suppose I’ll never be totally at peace. To this day I no longer swim or can take a bath. That seems to trigger some PSTD for me. I’m sorry to hear another life has possibly been taken by this demon. I’m sure there were many others we just don’t know about. I’ll keep her in my prayers and hope someday the answers will come.

My god! I can’t even imagine that fear. How extremely lucky you were in your extremely unlucky situation that he thought you were dead. I hope you and people you know have been able to not identify yourself as a victim but instead a survivor.

Why are your videos keeping me glued to the screen more than any Netflix series? 😂 I have a degree in psychology and overall it was a pretty uninspiring, even sort of mindless experience that didnt leave me with much of a sense of true understanding. Which is why now im Not surprised, that basically all therapists and psychiatrists ive encountered, are such clueless robots when it comes to understanding another mind and its pathologies. Anyways, we need more of this Type of integrative, systemic thinking and observing in psychology.

Now that we've both filed for divorce, until custody is established, it's supposed to be 50/50, but he is not trying to hear it. It's his world and we are just living in it. “…. Taking away her life is a transfer of life (to him)”. He revives, etc. sounds like this is the case with narcs and borderlines. They literally feel real by sucking the life out of you, destroying you, destabilizing. Their entitled to own, destroy, condition, weaken, sabotage and hurt you as they please, because they decided, agagainst your will or knowledge, to feed their vile hate, selfishness, cowardly fear of facing their own weakness and wickedness, etc. They are murderers of your life knowing what they are doing. Thy murder the time with you, what you built before and from trauma into the future.

They see a man bound by his circumstances/past, a dangerous felon behind custody isnt murdering anymore, actively and there is a human appearance, a human story, human persponality, background and valuabke human biomass in that person and that felon lacks privacy (everyone knows about them first,), felons can be chosen off appreance. To the desperate or manipulative who see relationships not as beautiful glimpses into vulnerability and wonder but at transactional masturbation..... Mugshots are CUTIE PIE HEAVEN, ignore unsightly criminals, focus on the pretty. You can see people at their worst without resources or makeup or enrichment or work and if they arouse you enough, you become prison pen pals. Gross idk man imguessing😂

After being shot at threatened to be killed daily by the narcissist Ill never me the same...but do all narcissist untimately want you dead or just some. Moving on from a new relationship is super scary too. The "narcissist" was labeled npd at the mental hospital he was placed in . Maybe he was a psycopath too its possible. He says we will never be divorced, he would talk about killing me if I ever moved on regularly. Extremely controlling.

Its also the high of terrorizing ,imposing will on other people and monitoring their facial reactions, language and actions. I've been threatened before too and the men who do it want to see how you react to their claims and your future actions. It's a cheap high. It's a shared fantasy of sorts. Back in the day might was right. You impose your will, what you want on the environment and it always works out with naive and kind people at least bwahahahaha as people age and gain education they gain the ability to see "evil" humans with kleptoparasitic/negative trajectories. Being violent and angry and frustrated while you're poor and uncreative and unfulfilled. Unheard of amazing🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯 people become threatening and violent to be entertained, disgusting but real. I think it happens with people who lack awareness and positive counsel. Positive counsel - other good people can steer people away from violent and aggressive perspective and one must also be aware and humble enough to appreciate the beauty and fragility of human life. We are on earth where everything happens but the world does not revolve around a singular human individual, how distressing. In a sense human beings are ultimately fuel for a progressing changing world that bows to no one and maybe murders enact and explode into rage with this sentiment to feel like the environment bows to them. The world will turn now matter who or how many people are murdered in the age of progress and social communication. 1000 years ago, murder and violence was how colonialism, conquest, negotiation, etc was done too though...

I'm not specialized in psychology .. but as i analyze through what i read and watched .. is that without positive emotions .. narcissists and psycopaths feel anhedonic all the time if they are considering themselves as regular people .. nothing has a meaning and nothing has a value without sharing with our loved people the happy moments and the memories of success and intimacy in the good times .. and sharing the support of each other in the hard times .. so they want to find any meaning .. they try to find any solution to stay alive .. then after thinking with their defected minds .. the only solution they get is "Grandiosity" .. they deceive themselves that they are super and they are able to manipulate everyone and be the center of the world .. they have the power to devalue, dismiss and kill people .. see how great creatures they are .. they found a way to have a self value as they hate their true anhedonic and shezophrenic self which keeps telling them they have no value and they failed to live a successful healthy life .. they become antisocial because they hate the beautiful positive life of others .. they deceive themselves before deciving anyone else .. AND THEY KNOW IT .. the proof that they know it is that .. once you unmask them they rage mercilessly .. and it keeps happening with all the people who unmask them ;)

Okay, a little bit more horrifying is the realization that maybe we all have a small portion of that entire feeling or complex within each of us. all humans are similar to one another, neuroplasticity, and these are basic and uncomfortable but real primal urges and ideas it does not take a rocket scientist or a college educated geek to aspire to murder. Murder is a climactic exciting transformative act. Murder is like human sacrifice. In the eyes of a murderer, it is focus on Thanatos and ushering in the inevitable truth that all life will perish regardless of struggle or progress. A murderer invites/worships death into the realm and create change and alarm all around them and to themselves 😢Self control and compassion and belief in other people. I would feel bad hurting someone in self defense but outright looking for murder is an enrichment activity that produces a crazy high without chemicals because the act is extremely risky and socially egregious and unforgettable, violence is sex 2.0 for the deranged in a sense. A gross and deep negative rabbithole but I think the solution is humility and education. I bet a lot of these murders felt like they were caterpillars sprouting wings as they murdered, got caught, faced famous trial and gain notoriety. In a bland or negative world in which one fails in the civilian sector, one can be grandiose and celebrated in the malicious criminal sector. I bet murders feel fulfilled after they have their hands and options tied up, like they did what they were born to do since they warrant to much attention and resources. It's a narcissistic grandiose empowering perspective. Only thing humans should ever kill is the tobacco industry by empowering the cannabis industry can I get an amen

Hi Professor Vaknin. I'm learning a lot from your terrific videos -- many thanks for that! -- but something caught my attention in this latest one. You referred to the Victorian serial killer we call 'Jack the Ripper' as having taunted the police. If you are here talking about letters received by the police and newspapers, *which ones should we regard as actually sent by the killer* ? I don't see any agreement about this in the literature -- indeed there are authorities who see *all* the letters as hoaxes. Do you have a moment free to clarify this? Thanks, Mark D.

Listening at 1.16 hour just remembered , a couple of days ago was downloading TV series Five Days at Memorial where it shows these nurses at memorial center running like crazy to evacuate people... But then this dr. Anna Pou kills like 20 people in last day before evacuating... The thing is they portraid her so in the series that I stopped watching , made me sick... There was tons of water and food in the basement where someone with a bit of diving skills could get enough water and food out for one or two nurses to stay with those people for prolong time. ... But I guess she liked killing and masking it in humane doing SICK SICK SICK 😢 This whole series is kind of twist to appeal to people and give propaganda to her and hospital to put everybody at easy. Just me...

Brilliant! Profe Vaknin describes it in such an interesting way that it almost makes you want to be killed! Obviously joking 😂 I mean, about the last part of course. However, what a crazy paradox: killing a human to feel human (i.e. alive), but this raises a curious question: in the end, from a certain point of view, is it not the “victim” who has, in every circumstance, “the power over…?” Even if the abuser, due to the sense of grandiosity, would reframe the story, perhaps can it be said that he is the one who is in need of the other, or not? And victims may also develop a kind of sense of grandiosity in having been chosen? Well maybe there could be a lot of plot twists

What if you kill your biological self using robot nano machines that replace your human cells with artificial robot cells that maintain your consciousness and memories. Would transhumanism and cyborgs be horrifying because the intended human robots represent organic human beings who gave up on their mortal coils?
