You’re a true credit to the breed Sam. And you’re an inspiration to others in the U.S. who have the opportunity to adopt a mustang and learn how to tame the breed using a gentle, sensitive and understanding approach. Just like Elisa Wallace you are always a pleasure to watch 🖤

How do you know what to do in Dressage tests? Is there a course walk like in Cross Country? Or like papers?
@amycarter13315 жыл бұрын
Lovely horse, event and training! Only one thing I see and would like to share a perspective on. I never leave a halter dangling that is tied to anything. It is an easy habit to take off the halter from a tied horse and drop it when tacking. It leaves a big safety hazard however as it is still attached to the tie. I find it to be a great peace of mind to unhook it from the tie as soon as it it off my horse’s head.
@SamVanFleet5 жыл бұрын
How is it a safety hazard? I’m just comparing it to everything else we do with horses and pretty much everything can be a “safety hazard”

Why do you call the showjumping phase of eventing stadium? Is it an American thing? x
@SamVanFleet5 жыл бұрын
Yeah! I’m still new to eventing but at all the trials I’ve gone to they call it stadium. I’m used to just calling it jumpers because that’s what I normally show... but I’m trying to start calling it stadium for eventing since everyone else does

3yrs out of the wild and it bows. nice horse but a mustang in is a wild animal.
@janinecarson83804 жыл бұрын
Are you making the argument that it's feral, not wild? Technically true but meaningless. The horse has spent its entire life in the wild and likely numerous generations before it, so for purposes of training, it's wild.

I like you video. Next time please braid him for dressage. It should be more nice and respect tradition. Dressage is elegant and flow like a classic dance. Dont be wild girl in this part :) you also show judges some respect too. This small touches pleased them. Also its handy because mane doesnt go to your reins. Big congrats to your winning! :) im looking forward for your next video. Best regards Sarka
@SamVanFleet5 жыл бұрын
This was a schooling show... if you watched the video you’d see that I debated braiding him but didn’t have enough time so I opted not to so I wouldn’t miss my ride times. I’ve braided him for literally every other show we’ve ever done.
