They took my tonsils and adenoids when i was around 8 years old... I was not suffering from recurring tonsillitis or nasal issues.... They only went on the fact that my brother 7 years older than me had suffered badly from it... But he never had his removed.. I had no choice. In the matter and feel that a part of my anatomy that plays an important role in my body have been taken from me....i feel i should be given good reason why i was put through this as a child.

You just shared the reason... for fear of going through what your brother went through though it wasn't your choice

@mde3370 your parents made the best decision with the information they had at the time. Saved you a lot of potential suffering. With them gone, as an adult you'll have the chance to soak up all the information you can in how best to live without them and still protect yourself. As we near the final the years of our life, our tonsils may again be more useful than when in our prime. Even still we can do well without them and live without as many painful infections and swellings due to them.

Thank you!!!! So now I know that I definitely DID swab my tonsil areas when I did my lateral flow test! It was awful!! Lol Then had to swab nostrils.....Gagging/coughing/sneezing and eyes running!! 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤧🤧🤧🤧🤧😭😭😭😭😭🥴🤪 This is the ONLY video that I've found that actually shows you where your tonsils are! The lateral flow and PCR tests just assume that you know! In fact the PCR test had an illustration that showed an area around your uvula!!

I've been fighting the lingering effects of a cold for weeks and now my sinuses are involved. There have been several times when I felt like there was a big hunk of mucus stuck in the back of my nose. I couldn't blow it out, couldn't snort it back. Now I'm thinking what I felt was actually my adenoids swelling up. Hmmm...

That makes so much sense!!! Before I got my dentures I had quite a few teeth that were just rotting roots bellow the gum line. During that period, however, I got TONSIL STONES all the time. Just the other day something sparked that memory n I ran to the mirror ( cus no matter WHAT I could always count on there being at LEAST one ) but to my delight .... there all gone!!

I grew up having strep throat every single Christmas for 6 years. Snice I was a kid. My parents kept asking if I wanted to get my tonsils removed every time explaining it would stop strep. But I always refused to get my tonsils removed, while growing up I noticed that the only thing I was ever sick with was Strep. Every flu or sick season, I never really got sick, besides strep. So I felt like they were working for something. (Yes, l did get vaccines too). But one thing that I was very worried about while growing up, is that I wouldn't be able to breathe as well if I got them removed. Because normally while breathing through my mouth, I could always feel the air go through three pathways. One in the center of my throat that I could feel while still breathing through my nose, and one on each size that was smaller but still felt pretty big. I have never gotten the problems of stones getting stuck or being really big. However, Recently I turned 19 and Found my throat was a little sore and Decided to check if I had strep again. This was the first time I checked my month, already knowing the signs. So I found that I didn't have strep, but of where my main tonsils are suppose to be. Looks like a cave/ is hallow and they go far really back to the point there is shadow and black in them. Which that's not where my tonsils stones come from, they form a bit further behind that, and some closer to roof of the mouth, towards Hard part of the roof of the month. Is this normal??

Last Christmas I had Streptococcal Pharyngitis and it was the worst thing I’ve ever had the misfortune of going through… it’s a severe indescribable discomfort that makes you really understand the severity of ENT health. It’s one of those “I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy” type of things… to hear you had Strep every Christmas must’ve been hell. I can’t believe Strep is even a thing it’s that bad. I’m currently sick again and I hope it doesn’t get worse like last December.

@@nobodyshome4633 Yea, Strep was awful the frist few times I got it. But over the years my body grew up some immunities to it. Atleast I geuss, because just turned into an inconvenience when I was 18, instead of 5 year old me crying because my throat hurts to much to sleep.

How did you find out or know that's where your stones were ? It sounded like you were describing your tonsil crypts when you said there were holes where the typical tonsils come into mind are at. Those sound like the crypts.

I had my palatine tonsils removed when I was 5 but I’m not sure if the ananoids were removed because I had loads of issues to the point I couldn’t eat anything other than liquid or sloppy food. I’ve now got 3 autoimmune conditions fibromyalgia Sjögrens and Raynauds syndrome. Drs said could all be linked?
@sleepyhead86812 жыл бұрын
Will never know, I doubt all of it is linked to tosils but some likley is.
@sleepyhead86812 жыл бұрын
Whenever I get sick my tosils swell, I may get them out reluctantly because it effects my breathing as well. They do help with illness. Sry that happened 2 you sounded unnecessary. You probably breath better and have less swelling in your throat when sick.aby less gag reflex.
