Don't worry about getting too deep or technical with how much detail to include regarding ridges and bony landmarks and the like. Best on our ends to watch something with too much detail than to spend time briefing up on content that doesn't contain everything we need to review. We will tune out the details that aren't relevant to our current studies and can always come back to re-watch in later years of our degrees. Thanks heaps for taking the time to make these.

Very informative video, friend. I broke my clavicle a month ago and I wish I watched this right afterwards. My orthopedic doc spent less than 5 minutes in the room and told me little more than "wear a sling". He offered virtually no other info on what the healing process would look like.

I had an AC joint separation during motorcycle accident 10 years ago and the clavicle end protruded from the acromium perhaps due to ligament tear. No surgery was done but the separation cause a pain when I sleep on my right side. The pain still exist until today but already immuned to it. But as I got older the separation now caused pain to my neck muscle down to the sternum joint area too

As a newly minted member of the "broke my collarbone mountain biking" club four weeks ago I wanted to echo what everyone is saying here .... I've learned MORE about what's going on in my shoulder from you than my Orthopedic Surgeon! Given that the last inch or so of the distal end broke off is it possible that the fracture occured between the acromial clavicular ligament and the trapezoid ligament? As a Mechanical Engineer I'm extremely curious as the broken end of the long piece seems remarkably stable. I think that the impact was on the back of the acromium in a forward and slightly upward trajectory.

Would it be possible to cut off a little bit tissue of the sub costal angle and sew it together again - the front angle there between the ribs so they come tighter and closer together a little bit - to make a tinier waist surgically - more of a V shaped rib cage?

Ha! ha! All you sporty types falling off motor bikes or push bikes. I fell off my feet! Blush. Didn't snap my clavicle but did plenty of damage to humeral head, rotator cuff and surrounding tissues. Never knew how much bones could hurt and bleed till then. Nor how much torn tendons, poor posture and hopeless muscles can make recovery such a painful and fraught process. 😢 Thanks for another great video.

Hello dear doctor, thanks very much for your worldwide training videos. Can you please answer my question? Would the space between first rib and clavicle bone decrease when hands overhead and both hands in front? I was diagnosed with vascular TOS. Looking forward to your kind answer. Regards

Hi there, i'm not a doctor (yet) but i think it would really depend on your posture and how other surrounding muscles are working. Like if you are driving a car while very tired and you are leaning forward without using your trapezius to pull on your scapula and letting gravity pull down while your hands are on the wheel then it can be very bad for blood flow of certain muscles & organs compared to a standing posture lifting light objects while properly using your lats to keep your shoulder complex stable and solid. Those are just examples but i would really go see an anatomy expert like a Physio Therapist in person if i was in your situation. Good luck and stay safe ☺

Did mine 11 days ago, crashing my hardtail on a dirtjump line. The strange thing is I have nearly 95% range of motion and about 50% strength already. The swelling is still pretty insane though, I think that's what is holding everything together. Did you notice anything similar in the beginning?

What should I do about an enlarged right clavicle area where attached to my sternum. I don't believe I have a break but feel constant tension and think there is some trapped gas. I had rotator cuff repair surgery Dec 2016. Since then I have been through routine prescribed physical therapy and just finished 6 weeks of therapy this past April/May of 2021 for pinch nerve at C-6 & C-7 with some arthritis wrapped around cervical spine. I am starting regular massage therapy hopefully on a weekly basic. Any insight or advice?
