Sold! Just got the Samyang 24mm F1.8 and I cannot wait for it to arrive tomorrow! Shooting landscapes, Astro, and even talking heads will be so much fun with this lens. Going for hikes and sailing will take on a whole new joy. I also have the Tameron 28-75mm di 111 VXD G2 and for $900, this is another shocker with amazing performance when compared to the G master serious. Both cases getting super high performance for 1/3 of the price.

Thank you for your comment. I'm glad my video was able to help you. Has your lens arrived yet and have you been able to test it?
@I922sParkCir6 ай бұрын
I've been so impressed with this lens. I picked it up on Samyang's site for $310. I had no intention to use it professionally, but I really can't justify getting the GM now. Maybe if the GM was a little bit better or if I ran into AF issues with the Samyang, but that just isn't the case. 24mm isn't a super demanding focal length for AF, and I haven't run into any issues yet photographing couples, weddings, or events with it. It resolves super well on my 61 megapixel A7RIV.

Thank you very much for your comment 👍 The performance of the Samyang lens is very impressive. I didn’t know that it works also so good on a high megapixel camera like the A7RIV. 😮

@@dawa5581 I’m a wedding photographer and typically carry everything I need for the day on me. Because of how good it resolves in APS-C mode, I stopped carrying my 35mm f1.4. It definitely exhibits more chromatic aberration when cropping tightly, a little more green than purple in my experience, but it’s worth the weight savings.

@@dawa5581 I recall center sharpness in portraits being very similar. Hard to distinguish between the 2. I think i bought it bc of GAS. Because of the cost difference I don't feel it is worth it at all.

Which ultra wide angle lens(12mm etc) should I get for my a6100, my budget is upto 200$ only
@dawa55817 ай бұрын
If your budget is only $200 then there is only one good ultra wide angle lens, the Samyang 12mm F2. I have also a video on my channel about this lens.

Thanks for sharing this great and thorough review! The Samyang did really well! Seems like a lot of reviewers and buyers are happy with this lens. There has been sample variations between Samyang lenses, but I think this has approved. And perhaps the small lenses in the Tiny series are easier to manufacture because of less glass...? What do you think about this? I got this lens, but haven't got to try it very much yet. Although the photos I captured with it have great sharpness and contrast. And I love that the lens is so small and light, like all the lenses in the Tiny series. The 45mm f1.8 is also a very good lens that I've used a lot.
@dawa55817 ай бұрын
Thank you for your comment. 👍 Samyang has been making very good lenses in recent years. It's still a mystery to me how they managed to put such good performance into this small lens. Actually, it is difficult to produce fast wide-angle lenses that small without the lenses having any problems in performance. The tiny series are very good lenses from Samyang.
@bennieferinga96097 ай бұрын
Thanks for your answer. Yes there has been improvement. The second generation auto focus lenses are very well regarded. And if there's problems, they'll send you a new lens. I think also Samyangs first zoom lenses; the 24-70mm f2.8 and the Tamron-copi 35-150mm f2-2.8 are supposed to be very good. They are very heavy though, but woul be interesting to test it. And when you mention it, I remember to have read or heard before that wide angle lenses are difficult to manufacture with good sharpness all over the frame. And like you said - the more impressive this lens is.

I use the 16mm Sigma F1.4 on super 35 mode & works great as a 24mm.. I like Samyang lenses, they have character to them unlike the Sony GM lenses
@dawa55817 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment. 👍 I also have a comparison of the sigma 16mm F1.4 against the sony 24mm F1.4 GM on my channel. They both perform very well. But Samyang has released a lot of good lenses in the last few years and is only getting better.

@sharikmarius26 күн бұрын
Isn’t the sharpness difference in the corners in the first comparison a result of the narrower depth of field of the Sony at 1.4? The corners are on a different focal plane than the center of the photo. It would’ve made more sense to test both lenses at 1.8.
@dawa558125 күн бұрын
Thank you for your comment. Both lenses have a hypofocal distance of 7 meters. At this distance, everything is in focus, regardless of the aperture. That's why I moved further away to take comparable photos regardless of the aperture.
