Yep. That is a Grade A basketball organization. They do their homework and don't rush to make big moves. They scout and sign and trade for players that fly under the radar that can mesh with their system. People thought they were boring because they weren't flashy, but that is just beautiful, fundamentally-sound basketball.

I don't understand why so many teams in the NBA play hero ball with one or two stars...I mean sure those stars should get the most shots but you really don't need them to score 30 every night when you get points from everyone. Ball movement and smart defence are the keys to win games. Unless you have a guy like Jordan or Kobe you need to pass the ball to the open man. And stick to the plan even in the last seconds of a game.
@cruzanity74786 жыл бұрын
Listeroman although there a lot of teams who only give the ball to 1 or 2 guys...a lot of teams began using this movement method like jazz, warriors, 76ers, cavs..not all the time but now they've been doing it more often recently. I noticed it for the past 5 years.
@JDefoe18826 жыл бұрын

CRUZ_GT that’s true. Most of them definitely got it from Pop. Steve Kerr played with the spurs so he picked up a thing or two to use to coach the warriors
@jym-i4916 жыл бұрын
AGREED. You cant always play better with defense more than an open man
@barrymccociner41056 жыл бұрын
That's why the GS Warriors are so good. As you said, ball movement and smart defense are the key. When Curry isn't injured, their ball movement is on par with the Spurs AND they have the best shooter of all-time (Curry), and a top five shooter of all-time (Klay), and KD with his nearly unblockable shot. These deadly shooters space the floor, which in turn allows for great efficient ball movement. As for smart defense, they of course have 2x Defensive Player of the Year Draymond Green, a great lock-down defender in Klay Thompson, and KD providing great inside defense with his long-ass spaghetti arms.

1:02 I personally really like this one. The Raptors are playing great defense, team defense on a string as I like to call it. The Spurs however are in no hurry, even though they're playing an uptempo halfcourt offensive style right now. So what do the Spurs do? Keep passing the ball until you find an open man
@luisgamez99413 жыл бұрын
Keep them guessing and don't let their defense set. The ball moves faster than any player trying to recover and get on his guy. Simple yet brilliant basketball.

San Antonio Spurs is one of the best teams in the NBA by Steve Irungu Jermaine
Now watching this in 2020, it's clear we need to go back to this. Derozan/Aldridge isolation plays are really not ideal and it'd be really nice to let the younger plays take the reigns and go back to the rapid ball movement that instilled here in 2014. I think Lonnie is certainly fast enough to be a rapid plug in the quick ball movement system, Keldon can probably fit the system, Dejounte has shown in the game against the Thunder that he's better without DeRozan, and White is really a intelligent player, he can't ever be Manu, but he can be the brain behind the ball movement.
