When you go on these trails do you remember the whole trail or do you use an app and constantly check the direction?

The first time I ride a trail, I will often use Trailforks to keep me on track if it's not obvious. Sometimes I will try to explore all of the little off shoots if I am not in a hurry. After that, I'm usually good to go.

You need to get someone to show you the two ways past Balboa, you missed out on the full glory of this canyon.

@@MTBTrailReview Looks like the climb south of balboa is marked. cross at the light, descend on the sidewalk, one small section on balboa. the sekrit tunnel which avoids the climb is apparently depicted but you have to look for it. while we're chatting, you need to check out east Rose as well. I think you'd enjoy it. the good stuff is not on trailforks.
