Love it. Man, I miss those days from 2014-2017, there were so many Yellows around and almost all were 30 lbs and up. Now we get excited when we can get 20lb'rs. I'm hoping 2021 is much better. See you out there soon, Mikey.

Definitely! Winter yellows off the kayak bring up a lot of amazing memories. The winter yellows were out and about yesterday. I just wasn't able to get to them in time to hit them with the iron. Thanks for watching!

Hey Matthew. Yes I have caught a small mako from my kayak. I brought it all the way to the side of the kayak and once I saw the double set of super sharp teeth I cut the line and let it swim away. Makos are really cool when they get airborne. Tight lines!

Nice fish! Do you nose hook your macks? We were out there today, no love from the yellowtail. Only heard of a 15 lb radio fish

Thanks David! Yes I always nose hook my macs on both flyline and dropper loop. I’ve been in Central/Northern California lately but have heard the yellowtail bite is going off with irons under bird schools. I’ve been seeing a lot of photos on Instagram. Tight lines brother!

I’m progressing towards being a professional chef. The nice sushi dinner plates come from practicing after catching a whole lotta La Jolla Yellowtail. Hamachi Sushi is my favorite. I am working on my cooking videos now. Thank you for the kind words and recommendations.
