San Diego redacts public records on Lake Murray Dam safety

People are not allowed in the water at Lake Murray, so the first scene showing kids in the water, well, they shouldn't be in the water. There is also a map that shows where water would go if a dam failed, so Lake Murray water would flow down the 8 as well as the San Diego River, I seem to remember. The page isn't working now to double check.

The question you should be asking is how much it's going to cost to replace Lake Murray Dam That is vital to the operation of Alvarado filter plant which supplies the city of San Diego with water you take the dam away the plant can operate because Lake Murray is a regulating Reservoir no Reservoir no regulation to the water flow coming into the water plant

Many people believe those governments/agencies at higher hierarchy (state, federal) are dysfunctional, but I often learn that it happens far more frequently at the local government/agency level.

There is a seismograph at Lake Murray Dam that the state placed there many years ago because the structure of the dam is unique they wanted to find out what it was going to take to fail. if there was an earthquake. Obviously over the years earthquakes have tested Lake Murray dam In-state Engineers have recorded the movement. Inspections of the Lake Murray Dam are done monthly or after any seismic event. This is done by measuring pins to see if there's any movement In the dam

Lake Murray, Lake Hodges and Big Bear Lake dams were among those designed by John Samuel Eastwood. He used an arch design that didn't need as much concrete, so they were strong but cheaper to build.

Since we get our water from Lake Murray, keeping some bottles on hand for a quake would be a good idea. Water heater tanks are another emergency source, save/print instructions.

"Release of the records could put the dam at risk of an attack". Get outta here with that. Anyone with the resources and brains to pull that stunt has their eyes on much juicier stuff in much less quiet parts of the world.
