My wife and I are owner operators and we lease our equipment to a nationwide RV Transport company. If that freight market in which you are currently running gets bad you might want to consider hauling new RVs. You will have to purchase a trailer. We get to pick and choose our loads, get to pick and choose when we load, we get to pick and choose how fast we drive, which roads to drive , where to fuel. We get to pick and choose when we unload. We currently run at 3 dollars a mile. The downside is we have to find our own back haul going back towards Elkhart Indiana. We haul automobiles back east just to cover our fuel expense. Yes you have to load and unload your trailer but that's easy work. Good luck on your endeavors.

A CDL trainer gave us a tip on backing a trailer. "Turn towards your trouble." If your trailer is going left (trouble) and you want to go straight or right, turn the steering wheel to the left. Obviously, the opposite for right heading trailer. I was amazed how many seasoned drivers appreciated that tip.

Have followed you since you started, i drove from 1979 - 1998 here in the UK then my boss asked me to swap to the office and plan the routes it was mainly fridge and curtain sider we ran 20 trucks plus another 80 across the UK. You don't realise how hard it can be until you have 40 drivers to keep control of people you have known for years and thought ok , suddenly became a problem you can't have friends when they make silly mistakes and cause damage etc .I worked in the office and returned back to driving in 2010 =2018 when heart problems made me retire at 61.

Handling people / staff is like herding cats. You have to adjust yourself on the fly for so many different personality types, and you try to be a people pleaser, but invariably, somebody gets pissed off or is a chronic complainer / troublemaker, and the best laid plans end up going to shit. You're trying to run a company and be the head of your own HR department at the same time, and it's quite an aggravating thing to juggle. Not everyone will get on board with your company's vision, and it's a pain in the ass to cut the dead weight, but it must be done if you want your company to survive. If running your own business were easy, everybody would be doing it. Best of luck to you as you forge ahead with Bright Mountain Inc., and I hope you find the right people to take the company to the next level.

Having worked at different places for different people over the last 39 years, I’ve worked for good people and I’ve worked for bad people. In my experiences, it has been very apparent that being able to manage people effectively, is something you’re born with. You don’t learn it, it’s instinctive, you either have it or you don’t. Again, this is the knowledge I have attained, from examples in my life. The one thing that I noticed about all the good people I’ve worked for is, they make it look very easy. It doesn’t even look like they’re working.
