SAN FRANCISCO FIRE DEPARTMENT off Powell Street hill crescent 2015

San Francisco police were present at the crescent of Powell street hill on Friday, February 13th, with the road onwards toward pier 41 closed, probably linked to the visit of President Obama to the city that weekend. Several brigades from the San Francisco fire department attended a premises nearby (off Powell Street), passing the police checkpoint, seen here packing up to leave after the incident.

Why don't San Francisco and LA County Fire Departments have tower ladders?

Drew Conway Because of narrow streets plus tower ladders are more of a east coast thing

Ok not using a certain type of apparatus for something like narrow streets or tall buildings makes sense but not using them because it's not what we do on the west coast is just dumb.
