I always thought losing Snell wasn't the end of the world. I think he might have 3 good years in him. Plus he's too up and down, his 2 CY years would good, this half season was good, but its not always great. I think Burnes is a great option, the bigger question is will the Giants pull the trigger on that. Spotrac shows the giants are 12th in least luxury space but it's still $90mil+ They can sign some big time FAs and if nothing else barely go over the cap. They can do this if that is what they decide doing. Whether intentional or not, Zaidi destroyed the team. I always felt like he was trying to be the A's bargain shopping for a roster.

From everything I have heard Posey wants pitching and defense. Do you think if Giants get burns that Kim for his defense would be next and possibly Sasaki do to the lower contract amount his first contract has to be, kind of like Ohtani was with his first contract?

If we got Burns, Sasaki, and Kim that would be a really solid start. Then trade Doval and Harrison for a legit bat. Throw in Luciano too if that is what it takes.

I am cautiously optimistic in the Burnes acquisition talk, because you know..Arson Judge. Also I hope Zaidi does join LA and brings the same energy he did for the Giants, that’d be great.

So they give up what a 2nd round pick? But lock down a front of the line starter for 6-7 years. They can rebuild. Signing Burnes gives them opportunity to trade pitching for someone else.

I will wait for the deal to be done I don't follow rumors, speculation, and wishful thinking. Focus should be on rebuilding, getting younger, more athletic this was Farhan's mandate and promise. He failed.

I don't even know if they should go after Burns at this point, losing picks, international pool money to overpay a player that won't make this team a contender anyway (he would literally replace Snell/Rodon/Gausman) seems like a good way to stay mediocre for at least the next few years...this organization (ownership specifically) just looks terrible, in every team sports, the worst organisations are the ones that stay in the middle year after year, they don't push/spend enough to compete but they also won't rebuild by trading players and going for better picks, they are just happy to put some butts in the seats, and the Giants are exactly like that. There's one thing they could do in this this off-season that would help them tremendously in building something on and off the court, and that's getting Roki, but I have zero hope for that, they'll likely get owned in that pursue too, I just don't think they're enticing right now, too many bad/mediocre years lately, and players probably saw or heard stuff about this ownership that certainly doesn't help.

Done with significant interest I’ll believe when I see it. but if we get Burnes, an off-season of Burnes, Ha Seong Kim, and Christian Walker will do..Trade wade for a middle tier prospect, Flores for peanuts..play walker at first until Eldridge is ready. Then Move walker to DH

Giants need, first and foremost, Roki Sasaki and then, by all means, go after Cy Young Corbin Burnes. Posey and Minasian will fix the defense, and this is where it's good that Zaidi's gone. His unsavvy defensive liabilities, on Giants roster (ie Ruf, Conforto, Sabol, etc), reared their ugly head to hurt Giants pitchers and lose games, so Dodgers can have Zaidi back with a toast.

Fraud-han Zaidi was indeed a mole for the Dodgers while he was with Giants. Yes, he did sabotage the Giants in his 6 years with the club. How many times did we have to "Google" players that he signed?

Kiley McDaniel, of Fangraphs, can pound sand with his hypothetical pie in the sky trade, because A's only need a veteran starting pitcher and 3rd baseman. Giving up three mlb players and one prospect of Hayden Birdsong, Landon Roupp, Marco Luciano and Carson Whisenhunt in a trade for Brent Rooker would be a gross overpayment that should get the Giants FO fired if they did it.

First off Corbin Burnes is NOT saving this team or putting it into any type of contention. For that reason, I would not even consider going after Burnes since we need to rebuild and while a 2nd and 5th round is not likely to even amount to much, losing international money is a massive no for me given where the team is right now. As far as Zaidi being a plant or some such nonsense this is just a guy who just got promoted to a position higher then he could handle for a team and fanbase who are his philosophical opposite. I am more willing to say that if there is a "plant" somewhere it is Greg Johnson who have never had an original idea in his life who has become Chairman of the board only because of nepotism and never even bothered to get a temperature check to see if Zaidi's style of roster management would ever be accepted here. That is not even talking about how Zaidi was sabotaged out of the gate and never got the green light to build the team how he wanted. Again, if you weren't willing to give Zaidi the "key to the city" then why ever hire him in the first place!?

soon as they said they arent going attempt Juan might aswell clock out they dont care about winning and theres nothing you can do about it. this team has became a lazy and owners saving to much money. Why would you not want to join the Dodgers? Ask Corey Seager and Cody Bellinger. Dodgers didn't like Seager's hip injury and didn't see him as their long term shortstop, and Bellinger was no longer an MVP batting 9th in a star studded lineup. If Zaidi wants back in LA, it's up to him so who cares. Many Giants became Dodgers, so don't make it into more than what it is.
