My first time to do a long drive by myself this coming Saturday! Walnut Creek to San Diego! I’m leaving at 3am early Saturday. I’m nervous and excited!

You post the best trip videos imo. Hard to find a good video like this that isn’t sped up too fast. Couldn’t watch it all yet but I will when I have 8 hours to spare.

The 30-minute gap in the video is from Soledad to San Ardo.

Loved watching it at 1x and 2x. Thank you for showing the different landscapes on a virtual car drive. Would be good if you could add town/city names in-video. Thanks, from India

There’s no way I would watch this for 8 hours on my phone or TV😂😂 But this happened to me last month when I drove from Los Angeles to San Francisco! It got me really tired!!

I've got ideas for a couple of trips you might be able to showcase in the future. I-5 north from the border to at least Los Angeles, if not a NB trip to San Francisco (you've previously done I-805 through San Diego and I-405 in Los Angeles), I-15 north from 32nd Street to at least Barstow, if not all the way to Las Vegas (believe it or not, there's still no video of NB I-15 through San Diego in real-time), and I-8 from Ocean Beach to Yuma. For some reason, there's no channel that documents the highways in the west like there are that document the eastern part of the United States.

Okay. One other trip I was thinking of was one on I-5 to Sacramento through the Central Valley (there's no real-time video of any quality from around Patterson to just south of Stockton). Now some those trips, especially the 500-mile trips might be two-day journeys. But not only do you need to find time, but also a lot of money, given the high gas prices there (about 80 cents to $1 higher per gallon than where I currently reside on the east coast). And take all the time you need. As someone who lived in San Diego for 30 years myself, I sometimes like to go back to the Southern California freeways to relive those old trips on Interstates 5, 8, 15, and state routes 75, 76, 78, and 94. (I like those NB trips across the border, as well.) Didn't get to Los Angeles that often, but showcasing those freeways on the rare occasions when they're actually moving wouldn't be bad, either.

I thought it of it more as driving from land mark to land mark, but probaly should've realized that most people don't know what the San Diego County Administration building is.

If you were near I-5 you would drive all the way to San Diego with no freeway changing, but nice driving skills

To slanted for camera to be mounted on? Ok. Regardless, I intent to watch the whole video, just looking for the right moment given that it's 8 hours in duration, sort of adventurous to go through but definitely my thing to do, prefer real time videos over cuts. PS: one question please, this is high definition video?
@ddraguti7 жыл бұрын
Oh no, no one is asking for 4K, 1080 is quite enough, I mean who's got a 4K tv, I certainly do not. There have been times when I was into driving videos more frequently cause I love California the most. Lately I've been into other things, however I think I am going to go back to these videos, I just need one good trip over California to turn me on again and this might be the one. Please look at this video below made by this Polish man Volny, , that is what I was talking about. The full screen mounting. Do not know how he made it, the camera must be on the outside or what. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jamwZ32egrWbqbM

30" is like 76 cm so I would say you have pretty huge monitor over there, it's like smaller tv actually. Mine is classic 15" and is only hd. I am connecting my laptop either to that or to my 40" Samsung full hd tv which is the best option actually. Btw can you really notice a difference between 4k and 1080p? As for the video, my opinion is generally supportive as I have stated before although I can't comment a video itself as I haven't seen it yet. As of now it is on my "to do" list. For some reason it is now being displayed in 480p only. And it is not internet speed which is never less than 25 mbit/sec at my place. Something must be fucked up with You Tube player or what. It is not responsive in a proper way either. Apparently I will have to use my full hd tv as a monitor. I have read all your technical explanations and it is interesting all of it, so many details to take car of before start actual recordings. Finally, you're fully correct, you can never recapture a moment, that's the reason why I made so many photos myself, likely more than 10 000 personal or photos in general.
@ddraguti7 жыл бұрын
4K - yes I get it, all you say. Now I am thinking of your 8 hour long video that is originally 4k as you say, it would be great to watch it in original size, too bad it was too large for You Tube. Have you thought about posting it as multiple files, say 3 or 4 files?
@ddraguti7 жыл бұрын
Yes that's a good idea, keep the original media and eventually reupload it in original format.
