Die "F-Line" in San Francisco ist weit über die Stadtgrenzen hinaus bekannt, handelt es sich doch um eine der letzten Strecken auf denen die kultigen PCC-Wagen zum Einsatz kommen. Die letzte klassische Straßenbahnlinie der Stadt wird reinweg mit historischen Fahrzeugen bedient, neben zahlreichen PCC-Wagen kommen auch Peter Witt-Wagen aus Milano zum Einsatz. Zum Besuchszeitpunkt fand das Heritage Weekend 2016 statt, sodass weitere historische Fahrzeuge an der Promenade eingesetzt wurden.

Iwas there last week. So nice to see these beautifully restored vehicles running. They domt make stuff like this anymore. Rode on the Blackpool boat tram and the Milan tram. Sadly didnt et to see the Melbourne tram running. Magnificent city is San Francisco

1:52 I like the colors of the DC transit streetcar! 2:57 This is the only Milan Peter-Witt car on this line not to be in orange! They have 10 ther Milan cars on this line! 5:56 nice to see the Blackpool Boat Tram out and about! 12:38 nice to see the 1895-built electric car! It's the oldest streetcar in regular service in the united states! 16:11 Wow! you actually got to ride the Blackpool Boat Tram!

I don't see Houston in the same category as San Francisco. Been to both...San Francisco has a city center that is full of life. Houston's city center is as dead as a doornail by comparison.

Los PCC me recuerdan mucho a los tranvías PCC que circularon en la ciudad de México hasta mediados de los años 80s ya que en 1984 finalizó el servicio en la única línea de tranvías que aún quedaba de Tasqueña a Xochimilco ahora extinta, ojalá y un día regresarán alguna línea de tranvías a la ciudad de México

Here in the U.S. tramcars are either called streetcars, trolley cars or trolleys, depending on the city.

By the way, in Russia, Ukraine , Belarus and many other former republics of Soviet Union there are vintage streetcars with the same design, some of them were licensed copies of PCC

I don't think they are 'licensed copies of PCC trams', - I'm pretty sure that when the design 'patent' expired in the US most of the towns and cities were so busy scrapping their trams, that the makers did not bother to re-new it. With the result any tram builder could copy the design and Tatra made a very good copy, many of which are still running.

AndreiTupolev that intersection (Church & Market) is oddly shaped, so the lights you're seeing don't actually apply to the road the streetcar is on. That said, this intersection has dedicated signals for Muni, and the turn being made is never used in revenue service - only when going into service from a yard.

Yes. There are two heritage streetcar lines operated by MUNI. The F Market & Wharves, and the E Embarcadero. :)

yes, its a Blackpool-boat, which was take some years ago to SF. It was in service like some older other trams about the Heritage Weekend in 2016! :-)

Hallo Dani, ein sehr schönes Video über die Straßenbahnen von San Francisco! Den Wagen 1052 habe ich vor einiger Zeit für den Eisenbahnsimulator „Trainz: A New Era“ erstellt, muss aber die Heckpartie nochmal überarbeiten. Schöne Aufnahmen von zeitlos schönen Wagenkästen. Ich finde die Tatsache sehr bemerkenswert, das in den USA sowie in der SU in den 60iger Jahren die Trams und Trolleybusse alle die gleiche "Formensprache" sprechen, obwohl die beiden Länder ja zu dieser Zeit zwei völlig verschiedene politische Ideale hatten und sich ja überhaupt nicht mochten. 07:52: fuhr da etwa ein Dieselbus auf der "F" ? 14:18 ne Klingelleine !!!! genauso wie sie bei den Göteborger M27/M28 heute noch täglich benutzt wird! Die Göteborger M27/28 sind ja so gesehen die Schwedischen PCC :-)

Danke! Die PCC haben schon einen gewissen Reiz, doch ich denke dass die Fahrzeugbauliche Entwicklung keinen Bezug zu politischen Idealen hat. Es wird überall nur mit Wasser gekocht ;-) ...

SF E-Embarcadero Streetcar and F-Market & Wharves Streetcar lines are operated by www.sfmta.com Historic streetcar operation is advocated and supported by www.streetcar.org/about-sfmsr/ Both E and F lines are fully integrated into an extensive SF public transport system and are widely used by locals. And of course by tourists too.
