If (when) one of the chicks ends up outside of the nest box, they're going to have a heck of a time getting back in. I seem to recall that the new box originally had a ramp but I'm too sleepy to look it up so I'll look tomorrow. Anyway, the 4 SJ cuties look healthy and happy and are a lot less screemy than their parents! Also a quick scan of FB didn't reveal a banding date (I'm limited on what I can view on FB since I'm not a member.) Thanks for the quick chick catch-up, SKH. G'nite!

There is a video of one of them backing up to pop, went a little too far, and feel off the edge. He got back up on his own but it took some squawking and some figuring out.

There is indeed a ramp at San Jose. We can’t see it right now because of the camera’s position. The banding date has not yet been announced.

@@techshabby0001 Yes, that's what made me think of it. Last year Soledad got out of the old nest box and climbed on top of the pile of detritus to get back in--lol.

@@skhideaways Good morning and thanks, SK. The ramp might make banding a little awkward, though. Should be interesting (and entertaining of course).

Wow! The little ones are just adorable. And the big ones are very noisy! Hartley seems to be keeping Monty busy bringing in prey. And I wonder if Monty would like to spend more time with the chicks when they're adorable balls of fluff. (Interesting observation in the Cal Falcons banding Q&A that males tend to spend less time with the chicks as they get older and the females become larger than dad.) Thanks for this update and capturing the antics of this brood. Wonderful to have 3 nests in the Bay Area, each with 4 healthy, lively chicks. Thanks for all those updates, too! As always, delightful!
