John, I am in the process of building this ship. Started it 20+ years ago, didn’t get too much past the skeleton and the deck, kids came along and it got packed away. It is out again and I am watching and rewatching your excellent build videos. I have a question at this stage. The upper most row of gun ports at the aft, that were precut in the aft deck side pieces, had them over the vertical ribs of the skeleton. How did you ovecome this?

Hi David, i really don't remember that part, i have build it around 6 years ago. If you send some pictures in my email : john.aliprantis@gmail.com maybe they will help my memory :)

This is so fascinating to watch I really have a feeling I'd be able to make such model - I built plastics in past, also USS constutution, now working slowly on Falcon Millenium perfect grade, but working with wood seems much more natural for me and I have experience with making custom furnitures... so I told myself If might be great experience... Btw Im curious if Artesania corrected plans since that time you built San Juan Nepomuceno. Greetings from Poland!

It is fascinating to build a wooden ship. It has nothing to do with plastic, it is an entire different world. In wooden ships you have to make a lot of the pieces. You have to bent , trim, shape wood pieces , but it's worth it!!! You have to give it a try! I don't think Artesania has corrected the schematics.

@@JohnsWoodenShips thanks for answer John. Yes working with wood is different story and I think I have skills, just I worry about that ~1000h per ship is much for me, my guess over 1 year of built now with small kid on board :)

Hi Johnny, first of all I want to compliment you on this beautiful sailing ship, I wanted to ask you for some advice, I'm also trying to make the Victory scale 1/98 from a Corel project. I would like to ask you: If between 2 frames there are 2 holes for the cannons, how do I support the strips between them? What can I do. Thanks from Italy Rome ..

Hi Alberto thank you very much! !t's very easy. You don't use strips between the gun ports, you use strips from bow to stern and then you open up the gun ports. If the model is designed correctly you will have either bulwarks under the strips with the gun ports pre opened or you will have the skeleton pieces in specific distances so that one strip will always be glued in a steady place.
