Personnaly, I use semigloss. It shines less but still shows the wood texture. But as you say : It's a personnal choice. I respect yours.

I was afraid to assemble a ship, but with your excellent lessons, I no longer have it. After John finishes assembling this magnificent ship, I will start assembling mine. By the way, for the next project, I proposed you the construction of OcCre's HMS Revenge, so that I could follow the construction with you John. That would be impeccable. What do you think, professor?

I cannot thank you enough for your kind words my friend!!! I am happy to help you wherever you need me. I do not know yet what my next model will be. Definitely it will be from OcCre but i do not know what. I do have my eye on Montanes though :)

@@JohnsWoodenShips Hello John. Could your next project be the Nuestra Señora del Pilar de Occre? My wife offered me the kit, and if I had John teaching me, I would feel more confident of being able to complete it well. Think about it please.
@JohnsWoodenShips4 жыл бұрын
@@fungoal007 It is a very beautiful kit my friend! Honestly i haven't made my mind yet. Don't worry, all the models are similar to each other. Some technics are identical. Just a few details are different.

Nice job John , have you ever had the glue let go of the brass? I thought you would have had to Solder that I have not worked with brass that thin before so I'm very Curious about that will the glue hold for a long time and do I need to up my skills in soldering, because if I don't well what you just showed would be better what is your thoughts on this.. never even thought about doing it the way you just did brilliant love that idea better and won't have burned finger tips in the process.
@JohnsWoodenShips5 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much!!! There's no need to solder the edges. The glue holds up very well because you have glue in 3 different places, at the base , where the 2 edges come together and at the cap, so there is no way that this piece will come apart. I have models made with these types of lamps from 2003-4 and they are standing like the first day! The secret is to give the metal "net" the right curve so it will pushing in by it self!

@@JohnsWoodenShips cool beans thanks for the info. Man I really thought I was going to have to do some side projects with soldering to be able to finish this boat but that is still far into the fu6. Thanks again keep up the good work!!!

Which is the biggest ship a 184 scale ship or a 1.1 scale ship????????
@JohnsWoodenShips4 жыл бұрын
I do not know, the scale gives you a different length. The "bug" ones are around 1.20 meters in length.
