I agree some more colors would be helpful. You mentioned burnt orange and I said "Oh, yeah" out loud. It's a really nice looking watch and I think the diameter is about perfect for me. Cheers!
@mywatchreviews Жыл бұрын
I think after seeing two Phoibos with burnt orange dials I want to see SM do one. This SM hits many of the criteria to be a brilliant watch. Also appreciate they are making some of their own designs that you would want to wear.

Really enjoyed your review. I only recently found your channel but your style is fantastic. Entertaining and informative all at once. I agree that the GMT looks better but I do still quite like this as a summer watch daily. The brighter colors appeal to me there. Looking forward to seeing your next review.

I bought this and 2 other San Martin's this summer. I bought the SN0123 paradive and the SN004-G blue snowflake with the coin edged bezel. The 106 g2 is very nice. It gets a lot of wrist time. The price was fantastic. That bezel is interesting and doesn’t block the sun from entering the dial from the side. I have collected a lot of vintage BoR bracelets and this one is top drawer! Even beats the Gay Freres! Very easy to adjust the bracelet.

I like it, and i like the stepped bezel (it looks like the crystal is intended to look like an extra step to me which is cool), but i can see how folk who are used to working on dive style watches (and searching franticly for replacement parts) will see it as having a missing part

Nice review! I noticed one of the spring bars wasn't properly attached, see at 8:27, at the bottom right lug.

Very nice, very reasonable. Beads of rice bracelet looks amazing, dial is very striking and makes me think of the Tiffany blue watches. Love the lume, agree with you on the bezel odd but not a deal breaker. Ticks all the boxes for me, well done San Martin.

Nice comment. I have to agree. The bracelet for me is a real winner.

It's great that you have reviewed this model, because I have been considering buying one. I think you are correct about the bezel on the GMT, I like this one, but the GMT looks better and I couldn't work out why. I don't need the extra hand, but this one doesn't hit the spot.

Its nice and the bracelet is epic but for me the colour I am just not sure of. Could be im now 50 but if you saw my collection that is a lame excuse!

Thanks for the great review. This one and its GMT Cousin are probably my two favorite watches by SM right now. If this one came with a date at the 6 o’clock (I really like a date on my watch) I would have pulled the trigger on it. I may anyway. Thanks again!

At least SM are trying to bring some originality to their output, but they really should use an NH38 in three-hand no-dates IMHO. In my experience NHxx movements can be rather…er…variable, shall we say? Some are spot on, others simply refuse regulation.
@mywatchreviews Жыл бұрын
I agree on the NH38 but I think they must buy in so many NH35 that they get them really cheap for bulk buys. A ghost does not bother me personally as its only setting the time that it comes into effect and its no real hardship pulling the crown a bit more. I can usually regulate them well and much better than factory. I have had some from SM and other brands that are spot on and others like this one that are not to my standard at least.

I already own this watch and I love it. I think the "stepped" bezel looks as though it is the same case as the GMT just minus the blue bezel I did consider buying a plain bezel and fitting it onto the steps but having worn it for a few weeks on holiday I just don't notice the steps when on wrist. Overall it is a really nice looking watch and quite a talking point.
@mywatchreviews Жыл бұрын
I thought that but its not the same case, the GMT has drilled lugs from the imagery. If you were to put a rotating bezel on this one you would need a spring or a ratchet to make it work which would mean different machining to the case. The bezel on this one must be intentional. if you fit a rotating bezel on it it would be sitting too high.
@davidbraun2923 Жыл бұрын
As I said I thought about it only until I had worn the watch but my thoughts were a fixed bezel just glued into place. I have far too many dive style rotating bezel watches so happy to have this one as is. @@mywatchreviews

Hello, could you please let me know if this watch is wound only automatically, or if the crown also allows manual winding? If so, in which position should the crown be placed, and in which direction should it be rotated? Thank you in advance for your help.
@mywatchreviews4 ай бұрын
Strange question. Yes hand winding and automatic. You have to unscrew the crown from its waterproof position to then wind the movement any other position either changes date or hands

Thanks for the balanced review as always. To me this is a dead ringer for a 70s Tissot PR516 GL (minus the date complication). Another one where San Martin are putting out models which can satisfy those after a vintage look without the worry of buying true vintage. (You're right about the bezel though, it looks like it's missing a lunette).
@mywatchreviews Жыл бұрын
I was thinking of exactly the same Tissot but I could not remember the model reference! thankfully it does not have the 8mm lug width! I love the bracelet on this one and the general design. They are doing so much right at the moment. I am working on another video now for the sale and the watch in that one is nothing sort of epic!!

As usual SM miss the date at 6, luminoys second hand, and obviously we have another rong movmt. The design is top, i love the colour the bor bracelet, the 38 mm. But, wo needs another watch with NH35 without date? Not me. Thanks for the excelent revue.

This is the same case that’s on their famous sn004 dive watch. They just took the bezel off. That’s why the bezel looks so weird. It’s very lazy and unlike San Martin to do that, but the watch still looks decent I think.
@mywatchreviews Жыл бұрын
San Martin recycle many cases, you only have to look at the Tudor range and they are all using the same ones. The stepped bezel is not what is underneath a rotating bezel. The stepped one is still added on as a design element. I have also reviewed recently a Baltany Tuxedo that has the exact same design which they tool of a Longines Heritage model.

Not big on SM on the whole generally for the same reason per this example ... ie; this appeared to do everything right and very well at that , even that logo looked at home on the dial ,case , bracelet and no skimpy clasp. all good then there was the bezel or bezel 's ... Jeeeez what on earth ?!
