I've never bought a San Martin, but every Aliexpress watch I've bought on a bracelet is a little sharp in places, so it has become kind of a ritual to spend an hour or 2 polishing the inside of the bracelet whenever I get a new watch. I use a Dremel tool with a felt wheel and a stick of polishing compound. Sometimes I'll involve 600 grit paper and a small file. I remove the bracelet from the watch, and remove the clasp from the bracelet and then wrap each section around a wooden dowel, inside out, and secure the ends together with wire. This exposes a lot of sharp edges which I polish until they don't feel sharp anymore. The difference is like night and day, not a hint of scratchiness, just buttery smooth like a luxury watch should be..

I do that too sometimes, just a bit les effort :D I use nail file and some P1200 sandpaper sometimes. Don't have that much patience to do it this well as you do.

I have bought several ali express watches and find the same issue with most brands. They are otherwise excellent but this puts me off wearing them. Might try your method thank you

I appreciate you discussing the details of how the bracelet feels, since you don't always have your eyes on a watch but you always have your skin touching the watch. And I also think your description of 4k vs 1080p is actually a good metaphor for the precision of a watch. And I appreciate the discussion of how that makes you feel about a watch, it's a subtle thing that makes a big difference. Extreme sharpness is a technical display of perfection, but not everyone wants that image or feeling.

That is a brilliant description. That’s why the other watches in my collection that are not SanMartin, just don’t seem complete. I buy them, then I end up selling them or giving them away. The SanMartin’s in my collection are still there. Not all of them, some of the earlier models were not quite up to the standards that they now produce.

I have to disappoint you, but I don't really like it. It is a bit too thick for a watch of that size. Edges of the case have no curvature, it looks a bit bulky like a little brick :D Lume is amazing though, strap is very high quality.

Yeah, I just realize from other video that it is a bit too thick. On San Martin website, its measurement is 10mm thick, maybe that is incorrect. These old models of San Martin may be not a best choice.

Leather or high quality FKM coloured straps or of course on smart bracelet. Watch is too classy for nylon NATO style.

@@TomasWatchReviews very fancy indeed, I used to own the GMT version and it was lovely. Like you I have a 6.5inch wrist so nothing more than 39mm suits. I sold the GMT as I just do not like 3 hands and prefer more simple uncluttered dials. Great video as usual 👍🏽

You pay extra for a better everything else. The difference in quality is not even fair to compare. I bought a flieger from Addiesdive and also a San Martin for almost twice the cost, but it is more than twice the watch. You get crazy quality for the price.

@@TomasWatchReviews You also might not be aware of the inconsistend QC for other AliExpress brands. If they are sending you watches for review, they pick the good ones. The only Addiesdive I bougth came with a misaligned dial. Yes, the dial was not aligned with the rest of the case. I ended up selling it.

I had only one sponsored watch from AD. All others I bought myself, no problems with AD yet from my experience. But you are right, the cheaper you go, the less QC you get.

@@TomasWatchReviews all my Addiesdives are faultless, polishing, brushing, transitions between, bracelets, dial, hands, zero dust under glass, I love how they pop when you catch them in the light, they have No QC issues even when you pay less. They punch way above their price. As for the SM, yes great quality but my Cadisen white birch dial gives the same look on wrist, again great finishing. Nice review.
