Recreated this hike for myself yesterday. Driven by many times without knowing what the area has to offer. Thank you for sharing. I very much appreciate your channel. It's been an excellent resource for me since moving to NM in 2014.

I'm in west Colorado and it looks like you are here. Unfortunately many of our petroglyphs / pictographs have been severely vandalized.

Thanks for watching! Western Colorado has that similar look to it. It's a shame to that people vandalize these precious pieces of history but I try to appreciate it for what it is.

Beautiful area - enjoyed the petroglyphs and super excited that you found pottery fragments! I started to get interested in rocks and geology after hiking at the Grand Canyon, wanted to know how the rocks were formed and how old they were - you’ve got some awesome cool rocks there!!

Cool vid. Just some feedback on your drone shots... they feel very mechanical and not smooth. You should look into your gimbal settings to smooth that out; it was kind of jarring at times with jerky movements. Also try different angles and gimbal moves as you're ascending and descending. Food for thought

Thanks for the positive feedback. Fortunately, I no longer own a drone so there will be no more future drone footage. I was never able to get the hang of it very well.

Your vids are great. Like the more alpine trips most I believe. Also enjoy the vids from your KZbin buds. Planning on a backpacking trip to possibly the Pecos Wilderness this summer. Getting into the feel of it with these vids. You ever try to find Forrest Fenn's treasure?

Cerro Pedenal is the only rock formation I can think of in the Abiquiu area that is recognized as a popular rock formation. I've hiked the back side of it (west side) and the views are outstanding!

@@TheSouthwestBackpacker this is a medium bolder that has a cross in it...its a natural formation white cross dark brown rock...in a very small arroyo

Based on your hand for scale, they seem to have been smaller-sized people than we are now.
