Great video. Could you please explain why did you have to change the support plate at some point when you went finer

Thank you for you excellent question, @Mike Vasile. I changed the support plate (for a bigger one) because I am using a finer paper. The small support plate is ideal for reducing the surface whereas the large support plate is better for fine sanding, also because it is softer. In this very case, I could have kept the small one as you can find 120 papers in this size. But if you go for 240 papers, they are only available for the bigger plateau (93mm), which makes sense as the plateau needs to be softer for good results. Thank you for your question @andreifratila8154 ! The tool used on this video is a Works sonicrafter wx 680.2 with 350 W. Very good multifunction tool, light and efficient. You can also use the wx 681 with 450 W. For the second, make sure you set the power regulator not too strong, otherwise the sanding paper may not hold well. Good luck and keep us posted !

It depends on the paint. This sanding process can remove paint, but not very resistant paint, which old paint usually is. In this case, you have to use the heavy duty technique which i shared in the series about the restoration of my workbench (thermic stripping with heat gun - careful about the heat on the glass- and then chemical decoating). Man what the hell. I'm using an electric sander on my door sand its 10x harder to sand it than what I'm seeing here with the multitool. I'm gonna use a paint remover tomorrow as an aid.

Indeed, casanovajako, sometimes the paint is extremly hard.
