i am all over, i play level head and quiet BUT if the other team start joking and saying stuff coz they are up then i turn into a total different player from 1-100 in a couple of secs lol

This is something I wish I would have known when I was in my tournament years. I wasn't a very good partner. I would show my frustration on the court, which I know wasn't good for my partner. I would like to find the balance of having a lot of fire so I can move quickly on the court (I'm looking at you short and deep balls) but also be cool and level-headed.

I have the same habit of letting my disappointment with my play become really visible. I'm sure it makes my teammates' experience less enjoyable.

MARK... this is great! I've never thought about bringing my feelings of success in my business into my game. And then give your partner the tools to put you in that state. What great advice!! Thanks!

Between my small business, my sports career and learning how to be a good fiance (soon husband) I find more and more that we can and should apply interpersonal principals across so many endeavors... Thanks for watching!

Thank you for this! I find myself very quiet when playing because I’m so focused on my movements and in my head. I think I’m this way because I’ve only started playing last year and feel like I’m not knowledgeable enough to say things to help others. I even have trouble calling the ball from times. But I do play very well with people who are very vocal and fiery! Y’all should come to Virginia Beach!!

@@betteratbeachvolleyball since you asked. What I really enjoyed about this video was the EQ awareness component to help address those slightly awkward situations. I wonder if you have any experience setting up casual games and keeping them competitive? We have an awesome group of people in my city that love to play together, but sometimes the caliber suffers when less experienced players come into the mix and we don’t want to exclude anyone. I’ll be the first to admit that many times I can be that guy who is bringing the level down, but I still want to have the opportunity to push myself by playing with better or more experienced players. I’ve been trying to think of ways to come up with a system to have multiple games going and allow teams to climb the latter. It’s tough because I want to build a group of really good players, but also keep it social and fun and allow people to push themselves. I realize this is probably the most complex subject you could cover, but any wisdom on this would go a long way I think.

All I can do is tell you how we do it in Hermosa. And largely it's player led... First, if there are limited courts you have to be selective with WHEN. You can't show up to the only court in town at peak hours and expect to hug the court. Then, download WhatsApp. I know it's crazy too have another messaging app but we have found that with the ability to add people manually and through links and then they can remove themselves easily without creating new groups entirely, this app makes it easy and private to communicate and gain players.... For yourself, start by getting the numbers of only the people you want to compete against. Add them to the WhatsApp group and explain "I'm adding you to this group because I want a higher level group. Do not add anyone who you think could never beat you." Then choose specific times to show up and play!

LETS GO!!!! DAY 8 OF COMMENTING UNTIL I MAKE IT TO HERMOSA🤠🤠🤠. Becoming a better volleyball player doesn’t only mean getting better at the sport, but it also means learning how to communicate with your partner.

Once Brandon flys me out from Texas and I find a place to stay and get to train everyday for a week with Better at Beach. If not I’m gonna work my butt off until I can qualify for the big tournaments in Hermosa!!

I think you should have tried getting an expert in sports science under sport psychology to do this segment. For example you didn't state your bias. are you personally introverted, are you individually oriented... You should have given a case study instead of randomly choose hypotheticals. Basically you took this for granted, there are people that take team cohesion seriously and others have serious problems with it. Do justice to serious issue

At the same time too though this video is him sharing content from his clinic he hosts privately where he has a small team/group of people. I understand what you're saying and he may have gone though this type of content during a different portion of the paid clinic he offers.
