All those leaders, from generations that followed, who took inspiration from his success were successful all over the world. In terms of the mindset, political strategy and vision; he was way ahead of his generation, both on his side and on the opposite side, of the struggle ha was leading. What were his achievements? 1. No leadership or revolution, in the modern history of world, has produced a nation that was politically stable and lasted for more than 70 years. Gandhiji Rejected Revolution. 2. He was able to carve out a nation for all those people who wanted democracy, peace, secularism, diversity in the true sense of Sovereign Republic. 3. He achieved the seperation for a population which did not want to be part of India, through Partition. This was done without him or India being seen as responsible for or planners/ facilitators in the Partition project. 4. Today the dreaded Jihadi Burden on our nation is less by more than half of what could have been if India was not partitioned. 5. India had to pay heavy price in terms of the huge loss of human lives, fertile and strategic land, funds and many other valuable resources at the time of partiion and in the aftermath of it. 6. Gandhiji was the master of appeasement in a way that he could hold the leadership of appeased group responsible. That is the lesson forgotten by the present day Congress leadership. Impact of Gandhiji's principles and his leadeship style measured in terms of delivering social justice, security, harmony between incompatible communities and peaceful co-existence is unparalleled. Gandhiji's models of - resistance, cooperation/ federalism, inclusive development - have been tried and proven successful across the world. Gandhiji was a political maverick. His contribution to advancing human knowledge for finding political solutions and building partnerships with the adversaries and rivals in any competitive situation is comparable to that of the great scientific minds of the calibre of Newton, Darwin, Einstein etc. In India he is next only to Lord Buddha in terms of understanding the roots of human suffering and the confidence and ability to resolve them. Khilafat was an Islamic movement for the restoration of the Turkish Caliphate which had already perpetrated genocide against several ethnic minorities in the Ottoman Empire. No wonder its Islamic champions in India wanted to establish a similar order in Bharat. Gandhi merged his Non Cooperation movement in Khilafat.
