Cruising no longer outlawed in California as 2024 starts

California lowrider owners are riding into 2024 with a bit of relief. It's no longer a crime to cruise.
“We can cruise all California, here we come,” said Marcos “Rabbit” Allerano, President of Impalas Car Club, San Diego Chapter.
For more than a year Rabbit and Jovita Allerano, who leads the United Lowrider Coalition, and its members pushed for AB 736, which repeals the ban on lowrider cruising and bouncing in California.
“Cruising is not a crime,” said Jovita.
Lowrider owners say cruising is a tradition for Latino families and it’s a part of their culture and its family.

Yeah, we have a cruising ban in the city where I live in and it’s been in effect for 30+ years but in 2019 they let people cruise once a year for about four hours the problem is you’ll get over 300+ cars out there trying to cruise basically four blocks but people like it because it’s almost like a Cruise night/car show! I got a small video of it on my KZbin channel my son and I are cruising in our Corvette for a couple minutes!

In California, the Covenant of Quiet Enjoyment is based on state laws that protect the "Quiet Enjoyment" in our homes. Often these "Cruisers" don't abide by the law. Nothing "racist" about it, especially what I remember from Van Nuys Blvd in the 1960s, just nonsense.

From a biker to a cruiser? My favourite pastime is to sneak up behind an idiot who plays his crappy music with 98% distortion through open windows. Then I bark my bike's exhaust as soon as my exhaust is near his open windows. The reaction is funny every-time. When we stop at a light, I continue maintaining a rev count of about 3000 revs. And my exhaust is about belly button height. Just came from another story of NYC implementing noise camera ticketers which fines car owners that create a noise of 85+db. IDK why the algorithm sent me here. Current theories that I have is that the algorithm is sending me recent laws about cars or maybe that these cruisers would be loud be since they tend to roll down their windows and blast loud deafening music. Anyway, I love this the idea of a 'tax' to reduce noise polution and generate money for the cities, although, I am concerned on what one should do if the car in front is to distracted to go on green.
