Thanks for doing this video; I've wanted someone to show sanding and polishing with a Dremel for a very long time. I only knew how to polish with one with the little white woolly attachments; I did not know how to sand. I like your sanding options with the different grits and will get what you have shared in this video from now on. I am so glad you were willing to share your technique. Thank again Kathryn. You are an awesome artist that I love to watch.

Thanks for this video, you have no idea how helpful it's been, I have been having so much trouble buffing my pieces with my dremel, having it cut groves in my projects, I gave up trying to make it work. I had no idea that I was using the wrong items, have ordered the cotton buffing wheels and sanding wheels. I couldn't get anyone to tell me what I was doing wrong. Thank you again.

I was laughing when that piece kept flying out of your hands because been there done that! 😂🤣 Who knew clay could be so dangerous! 🤣😂😜Thanks for the video. Great seeing what the different results are. I can see that a stand would be helpful so you can have two hands to hold the little trouble makers from escaping.

I have a little vice that works a treat ( it has soft inserts so gentle on the clay) but its such a faff to keep moving the piece that i don't often use it now

Another great help video! I use a combo of sandpaper’s (wet/dry) and the Dremel buffers. I so not like getting my hands wet for long periods, so the 1 inch attachments you use are a great tip. I need to get those. Just a note, the Dremel has different inserts you can purchase that fit smaller or larger mandrels. So, no need to tape them. 😊 I think that insert is called a collette, but I could be wrong on that name.
@KathrynHalstead3 жыл бұрын
thanks Maya, I have the collets but mine don't fit in the 'snake attachment' only in the actual Dremel

Has anybody done this to their polymer clay charms? Or is it more for flat items like jewelry and beads? I’d like to make my chibi charms shinier without using resin.

This may be a dumb question, but what does she mean by burnishing the clay with paper? Like a piece of paper and an acrylic block on top? TIA 💕
@jilllloyd-jones6245 ай бұрын
Hi Lindsey, you burnish with a piece of paper and an acrylic roller. You just rub the roller over the paper in circles. Jill

What speed do you use for your polishing/buffing? I haven’t had good luck with the yellow wheel, even my puff ball sometimes takes divots out or just doesn’t polish well.
@jilllloyd-jones6245 ай бұрын
Hi there, sounds like your piece needs more rougher sanding if you still have duvets, before buffing. Jill
