Just a reminder about Sandos Caracol it has a sister Resort sandos Playacar your able to use there resort sand beaches no rocks lockers to store your stuff. The restaurant are air conditioning and the food was better so take advantage of both resort's it 5 to 10 minutes away from 5th ave. Quick to get to for some food and drinks

Thanks for the video. We are going next week. You recommended using taxi between airport and the resort. Do you know how much the taxi might cost for the ride?

It's hard to say since it does fluctuate, but as a general guess, for 2-3 people in a normal taxi (car) I would think you could get it for 50-60 each way. Once you get into the larger groups like 4-6 people they would require a van which takes the price up to probably near 90-100 which doesn't save you a ton. We went to a different resort last year and it was all the way down in Akumal and I was able to find a shuttle service (Van) for 5 of us for only about 230 (included both ways) which was reasonable. We used ([e-mail]). They may be allowing Ubers down there now as well. They had some issues with them literally fighting with taxi drives a year or two back but I think that is all resolved.

Great video... in Cincy as well, and thinking about this resort. Haven't found a flight for less then 8 hours of flying time. Going in November, maybe rates and routes have changed.

Flights are quite a bit higher I think but the room rates are about the same last I checked. We used Frontier but maybe they have dropped those flights. I will say they only go down and back on Saturdays last I looked.

The restaurants are included with the cost of the “package” right? Awesome video.

Yes. The "ala carte" restaurants. You usually get something like one ala cart dinner for each 2 nights stayed at this and other resorts in that area. On occasion they allow more. I think it said we were supposed to get 4 for a 7 night stay, but we got 5. We did the steakhouse twice. It's the best by far and does have AC. My suggestion for the other nights you can't get into one of the ala cartes is to go outside the resort. There are cool places downtown. The resort buffet dinner is fine, but just fine, lol.
