It is not obvious that Cate Blanchett and Sandra Bullock are uncomfortable talking about their characters romantic chemistry in Ocean's 8. Cate was in a same-sex relationship in her film Carol with Rooney Mara. So, Cate clearly has no problem with being in another same-sex relationship on film. So for the people who thinks she does have never seen the film Carol.. As for Sandra, she always interrupts interviews with humor, that is just something she does. It does not mean that she is uncomfortable with have a romantic relationship on film with Cate.

@jonnyfendi20036 жыл бұрын
right just pull up in a wheel chair trying to take a necklace off someone in a heist, sounds legit, smdh
@cordeliaistheone6 жыл бұрын
jonnyfendi2003 There are a million different disabilities and many people with disabilities don't need/use wheelchairs - and many of those who do would be perfectly capable of stealing a necklace (just using that as the example) - they even have an extra place to hide it lol and would probably be less suspected because of ableist assumptions like yours. People with disabilities are used to improvising and finding innovative ways of moving through a world that refuses to be more accessible, so they'd make a great addition to a team like this. Definitely need more disabled representation - by actual disabled people behind and in front of the camera - because so many people make assumptions like this and it puts the lives and humanity of disabled people in danger again and again.
@TheSomeawesome6 жыл бұрын
cordeliaistheone That's true. You know, it'd be pretty darn interesting to see how they'd fit a blind or deaf character in a heist film.

They’re obviously very uncomfortable discussing this, hence the mutliiple attempts to divert the conversation with humour. Ps I’m not gay but man was Cate’s character HOT lol. And yes, it was definelty part of the plot, not accidental, the two characters had ‘chemistry’.
@winterhug43316 жыл бұрын
Sandra Bullock is always diverting conversations with humor, that is just who she is and it does not mean she is/was uncomfortable with the notion of her and Cate's characters having a romantic chemistry. As for Cate, she was fine with it, since she most recently had a same-sex relationship in the film "Carol" with Rooney Mara..
@PlaceForAnEcho6 жыл бұрын
Queen Bee interesting. I don't see them as uncomfortable. I bet they've been asked it (their chemistry) so often that they change the topic or piggy back off of gay and representation. It watches as organic to me. And I love they know film history. Women have always been in Hollywood. The boom mic was made by a woman. But I really enjoy these 2. They're smart and snarky and I bet they just wanted to talk about a range of things that do actually involve their on screen chemistry.
@bslnicole11776 жыл бұрын
Would anyone have asked George and Brad that question

The sense of the relationship? You have to admit is totally tru, the moment they appeared on screen together I turned to my brother and said "If they say they're gay I wouldn't be surprised" lol
@TheSomeawesome6 жыл бұрын
(Let's assume this if Ocean's 11 was theoretically released now, a much more open and accepting time where LGBT topics are no longer taboo) Probably not, because they didn't have that vibe. If their characters had a similar chemistry and what seems to be a much deeper and convoluted history than is shown on screen as Lou/Debbie, then yes, they would have been asked.
@geekwithglasses28976 жыл бұрын
