I could have greatly benefited by being your friend when I wrote a Hispanic/Latino novel, The Invisible Island. We must trust our intuitions. Characters in stories have lives of their own and they speak to us. I sometimes feel like a medium. I have mangoes in my kitchen. I think much like you. I looked at a mango last week and said, “Yes, I hear you; you want to be a tree.” So I sprouted it and care for it like a newborn.”
