Actually, Sandy's commentary makes it better than being there. It would have been criminal if he hadn't gotten an invite. @@excelrobot well....Munro wasn't impressed by the car body and the way/quality it was produced. However, if I remember correctly, various Munro employees bought a Tesla after they went through the tech of the drivetrain and battery. In the end it's better to drive with great technology with a bit of a imperfect body, than driving a technological turd that looks nice. Like with everything important, you should always start from a solid base/foundation.

Roadmap for the legacy cos to get with it. So far it looks Volvo whose retooling their main plant in Sweden to make only evs from late 2025. Spending billions to do it, will use a single piece rear casting like this. Nio also claims the upcoming et5 which is a model 3 competitor launching later this year will have a single piece rear casting assembly. I can't wait to see in 3-5 year's just how many manufacturer's use large castings. And how much the tech evolves from here. Oh and the tesla patent to make the entire outer frame from one giant casting in the 12k ton press could also happen. Imagine basically a whole car assembled from just 4 mega castings. 👍🏻😎

I fly a drone over the factory three times a week beginning two months after the start of construction. Would have loved to see how it came together inside. Tesla started testing out the casting machines about nine months ago. Many castings ended up in a dumpster. I assume the aluminum was recycled.

I am a recycling nut too and I think that ANY damage sustained by future Tesla products will be disassembled by bots, with access to downloadable production plans, and then recycled. This means that it will be cheaper to replace the product than to 'mend' it, local scarcities excepted. I applaud reuse but even simplified complexity requires cleaning.

@@Aqua-uq7ix you think Tesla is changing society in a more disruptive fashion than the electrical grid, guns, highway system, internet, computers and virtually everything the first world relies on to survive not to mention all the initial leaps we made as a civilization? Thats a wild statement

MANY THANKS FOR A GREAT VIDEO!!!!!! Both you and Corey did a fantastic job. This has to be the BEST video I have seen on Cyber Rodeo Giga Texas. Telsa was fortunate to have you guys there to show the rest of us what we have waited months to see. Can't wait for my new Model Y Long Range that I ordered in February that currently shows an expected delivery date in September.

Thanks Sandy, Corey and team ! To integrate all the functionality required into a single casting requires a monumental effort, and highly integrated teams. This is the beauty of having very few different models - your efforts can be focussed on solving for 1 thing - the mega-casting !
