@P2B_JCАй бұрын
A "lemon" is a legal term that may only be applied to a new vehicle. Also, most dealership mechanics leave the shop by 5pm. Most dealerships close between 7-9pm. There are some cars that managers decide are not worth inspecting. For example: I once took in a 15 year old car with severe body damage and 200,000 miles. I gave the customer $100 for it. It costs me $400 to sell it at auction, which means I would own it for $500. Even if I lose money at auction, it won't be much. So, I decide it's not worth it to inspect it. My service team takes the keys anyway, gives it to a union tech, bills 3 hours for a new battery, oil change, wipers, and some other random stuff, and sends me a bill for like $500. So I go to the service manager and tell him I'm not paying a dime for inspecting an obvious auction piece where the body was falling apart and the Transmission was obviously slipping. Even had a check engine light on. We negotiate the bill down, and I'm still pissed months later. So now I write on the keys "DO NOT INSPECT", so the service department doesn't take them and bill me money for a car that I have no intention on selling to a customer.

This man on a small budget came in and after leaving with his purchase realized that he had been rooked. Either the car had major mechanical issues (likely), or the contract was userous in some way. How can you tell you're dealing with an uneducated, dumbed-down consumer? Have him make moronic comments on YT to show off his super-intellect. He was informed at the time of purchase that the car was not inspected by the dealership, meaning it's possible that it had issues. ALL dealerships have an "?? Point Inspection" that qualifies the car as a CERTIFIED USED CAR, and they will stand behind it, and the customer will pay more! This is why he got the car cheap. He signed papers saying he couldn't return the vehicle. THAT WAS THE POINT BEHIND THE CAR BEING SO CHEAP!!! Use your heads, people.

I want to hear the customers side, I bet the dealer lied to him about how good the car is and is lying about finding him a different car. He probably signed As IS paperwork based on the dealer telling him the car has no issues and found out when he got home it has bad head gaskets..
@truelife97427 күн бұрын
And that's the usual problem with the car. Selling a car that belongs in a junkyard should also be criminal.

@markjwil yes drivable but did it leak did the transmission skip did the electrical work right did it lose power going up hill did it have suspension issues. He should have taken the car to have been looked over before he signed on the dotted line. That being said if the dealer wanted to make things right they should have given his money back. One of the good things about CarMax is they will let you bring it back in a few days if you are not happy with your purchase.

Can’t say I’m in agreement with the dealer on this one. Many dealerships are just downright greedy and don’t give a rats arse about the customer once they leave the dealership. Let’s hear the crash-man’s story also.
