Hi sandy I have a 770s v8 and go through a lot of diesel . fully loaded even with the 770s v8 it pulls well but I feel your pain when you look at consumption but doing heavy loads it's part of the job . I do Scotland to most of Europe .I spend hundreds of thousands a year sometimes I wish I was connected to north sea oil.. At the end of the day I love what I do and you pay for driving and owning a big truck hauling heavy loads. Aye sandy being away from home takes its toll on you and any partners wife kids ect . You can get into a bit of a spiral but you just have to not get lost and keep it from driving you mad all the best with your company sandy 😊

Truckers & Farmers. High costs, Minimum returns. Here in the states we truckers need to make about $1,000 USD ($807 GBP) per day to make a decent living for Dry Freight as owner operators. Every driver has different cost totals but bout a grand a day. No idea heavy haul costs here but I’d imagine triple what a dry van/refrigerated driver needs. Loved the Vlog, Sandy!

Hi Sandy. What you may of mentioned was that you had to front that money for fuel, your hours of pay and standing costs along with pricing and planning time. The risk factor is immense, just as the pressure to succeed. Lots of respect to you. 👍🏴🇺🇸

I don't mind any videos you release because it means you are flat out with work and that comes first. Have you recieved your silver play button from you tube👏👏 and if so will you be mounting it in your cab like other guy done🫣🫢🤣

4.4 mpg avg, That’s some slurping. I remember when my uncle ran his own wagons, he had a magnum Mack v8 and an old Sed Accy Strato my dad drove for him. I remember him saying fuel was costing him about £600 a week each wagon. I’m going back some years though. Fuel price is absolutely robbery nowadays. Your 580 sounded so good pulling up those hills 👌🏼👌🏼💨💨💨

Nice video Sandy. Looks like you could do with a dolly. I always liked getting up round the west coast, usually something to do with fish for Spain. Up the A 9 to Inverness and across to Skye via the ferry at Kyle, or Ullapool, Mallaig. Just a few tips for you when you're running heavy.... Sit on the front of the seat. and when it gets really steep, or you're trying to get round someone, lean forward a bit more and do a gentle bounce.. Even though your foot is right on the floor, just press it a bit harder.... When we're getting up some of the climbs on the Hume ( Melbourne Sydney ) we're getting about 400 meters to the litre @ 69 tons B Double. And about 300 meters to the litre @ 80 tons A double. The gradients are about the same as the M 62 Halifax area, but 10 -12 k's at a time. Alt 790 meters. Fuel tanks on mine are 1800 litters. 3x a week. Over all we get about 1.8 K's to the ltr on a good day.

Wheelie great video Sandy I'm probably one of your biggest nightmares, I pull a caravan, lol but that experience gives me the respect for you guy's, giving you the room to manoeuvre, stopping distance, appreciate your loss of speed on inclines etc Why is it, every steep incline has to have a bend, taking out any speed from your run up Hats off to you 👏 Your mind is constantly on the go, no wonder the law is so insistent on breaks and taco times Keep safe Keep the vids coming Take care Geoff

interesting with all the modern technology and electronic engines etc your not doing any better on fuel than my mate was getting with his 6x4 Atkinson silver night with a 250 gardener and 15 spd fuller on stgo 2 work. even my 1942 diamond t running at 60 ton gross is averaging 3.5 - 4 mpg with just a rolls royce c6 at 185hp with a pair of fuller box's. not even going up the hills any quicker either which is surprising considering you have double and even triple the power than the aki and DT.
