Hi Lisa! I love George Winston too! He is in my top 3 pianists along with Sangah Noona and Ludovico Einaudi. Growing up, my mom always played George Winston's season albums and Phil Keaggy's Beyond Nature album, now they are just so nostalgic. Phil Keaggy is like the Sangah Noona of guitarists, he uses a guitar like no one else I have ever seen.

A moment in time I remember so well; one evening, I went with my mother to the dime store. While she was shopping for her things, I was browsing the albums. I noticed one in particular - with the now iconic photo of the Beatles all in step strolling across the road. I had about $3 on me so I bought it. I was 16 and what a thrill! I couldn't wait to get home and put it on the record player. Your video has brought this memory back to me. What a mysterious way music has about it. But I'm agreeing with John on the lyrics to "Come Together", rather daffy, lol.

Your advantage over simply note-readers is that you have not only a knowledge of the breakdown of each chord, compounded by a fast mind and dexterity, but also a rare sense of tone and rhythm, that allows you to express your imagination with variations in a way that most neither possess nor can fully grasp. You are just the one to pull off the bizarre nuances of: Being For The Benefit Of Mr Kite, and Only A Northern Song!

I enjoy thoroughly learning about the way you approach making your arrangements, it's so cool to see what goes on behind the scenes. :) Sheet music transcriptions of popular songs having errors can be so frustrating, I agree some are done so badly they should not be published. It's a solid advice you give to be mindful and not rely 100% on all transcriptions. And you are right, music should be fun, absolutely! Even in classical music, I enjoy a performance that is faithful to the composer's indications, but it's also fun when someone tries to do things a little different and have fun with that. In previous centuries it wasn't unusual for musicians to improvise sometimes a little instead of follow the sheet music exactly the way it was written. As an amateur wannabe "classical" composer, I would like people to play my works the way they want to, not the way I tell them to on the sheet music, and improvise all over it if that makes them happy. :D As always, thanks for sharing!

I like your Y- I camera, Sangah. I can see your notes as you play them much more clearly. It's more difficult viewing when you play and now your camera is positioned to look straight down over the notes you play. I already have a version of "You never give me your money, but your arrangement is much better than mine. I'm a bit slower. I am still working on, "The Shadow of your Smile,"and As I become more familiar with the chord progression I'm able to let my fingers do the walking as I play along. I have a nice introduction to it, and If I play it a few more hundred times I might be able to play it as well as you do. ..Laughing... ;) Question: Do you play any Bob James tunes? He does a fantastic version of "Downtown" by Petula Clark. If you get a chance to hear his version, I think you'll like it. Bob James tunes are some of my favorites. I hope you like it. Love stuff like this. It really encourages me to try different stuff on songs that I really want to be able to play. Although I certainly don't consider myself "a pianist", I am more than able to try things I see you do without wondering what notes make up a chord, or, having to take 10 seconds to figure out the inversions. When I read stuff on different channels on YT from people who want to be able to play, but, don't want to take the time to learn basic theory, scales/keys, or, how to read music, it's almost like someone telling me they really want to be a brain surgeon and then asking if I think they'll be able to do it if they watch 10 episodes of Chicago Med. Do they think that learning how to read music and learning basic theory takes 1000 hours? Whatever. P.S.: Hope Bubuji didn't get birthday cake icing all over her nose and then rub it on the couch. :) PPS: Hope your little sister is well too :)

Love it when your post let all your wires exposed. . Great lesson ! So Sangah ....is this so ? . ... . Sally sold Sangah some sheet music to sing some songs at her show down by the Seashore. Sangah stunned all Nuns at the Sunday Service when she said she didn't know this score and this sheet music seemed like stereotypical sheet music she's seen before.... all wrong ! The stunned Nuns said. "Sangah, that was so so wrong ! " But Sangah said, " No, no no ... Sorry but Sally was the one so so wrong ! She sent this sheet music that doesn't match this song. So Sally said, "Sorry Sangah, I shouldn't have sold such sheet music and told the stunned Nuns she shall send some sum of some of Sangah's money back as soon as Sangah sings a song about this sheet music being so wrong." . Then the stunned Nuns became the sensational singing Nuns and started singing to Sangah ..... "So Sangah, How long before you sing that silly sheet music song about sheet music being so so wrong ? . Then Sangah said, " That's it ! from now ... it's always being called "score". . And then Sangah turned directly to the Nuns and said, . .
