First of all, you agreed with me in your previous comment but added that the Galicicians also invaded Iberia, An oversimplification I think and dude, My position in the first place was that they invaded Hibernia Why stress that ii may have been arguing something else. And my research which does include other sources than the official ones, includes for instance a Basque language page by Basques that talk about the pan Galo- Asturian experience related to language. Something an official researcher on the subject should have been familiar with. I am not denying your fact but genes express itself across many generation, sometimes its suppressed in progeny of same parents. Its definetly true that olden times people of colder areas of jammu and himchal and Uttrakhand would have had progeny with people of relatively south with dark complexion(due to being in hot climate) . My hypothesis is that this intermingling has given rise to all modern indian population. And also ancestral people from those hot and cold climate are also there who didn't intermixed .

Really appreciate the speaker's passion and effort. This is a sensitive topic for many Indians as well since many have their identity attached to greatness of noble Vedic culture and Aryan ancestry. A few questions that pop up in the mind: * If India's political boundary today also included all the ancient Vedic cultures (Europe, Iran etc) and was called "Bharata", would one still be trying to prove "Out of India" theory? * Why not have a "Out of Kishkinda" theory where forest dwellers of Kishikinda jungles moved northward and mixed with Indians living in the gangetic plain (sure they do have some common genes)? or an "Out of Mexico or Brazil" theory where European migration into Americas never happened but it was the reverse? * How does one account for the fact that Europeans and most other Indo-European speakers in West Asia DO NOT HAVE any (that is, zero or virtually zero) South Asian IVC-related admixture in their DNA? (IVC = Indus Valley)? Does it not clearly show the direction of migration? I think an Aryan "Migration" happened and not invasion - IVC was already on a decline when Aryans came to India. Sure there were some initial violent interactions between Aryans and early settlers people in IVC, but that was a norm between different tribes/races around the world at that time and shouldn't be judged by today's moral standards (Classic books such as Sapiens or Third Chimpanzee is a great read in this area). My admiration for "Maryada purushottam" Lord Rama or Vedas still stands tall despite Aryan migration. An example of invasion is what Putin is doing in Ukraine today which is totally immoral. One more question: So many folks on this thread are talking about "Vasudhaiva Kutumbukam", which is a philosophy I try to follow in my life as well. On the other hand, we are also talking about our Vedic culture being more superior / exclusive and negatively stereotyping "foreign" communities. Isn't that an oxymoron? I do understand there could be a political ramification of this where a certain section calls "descendants of these Aryan settlers" (read "upper castes") as "foreigners". Many fear this has the potential to divide India and I acknowledge that sentiment, however in today's connected globalized multicultural world, people of all cultures/castes/races are "melting", does it matter anymore? If one reads books such as Sapiens and The Third Chimpanzee, we would understand how homo sapiens around the world are all connected, and have continuously migrated & come together to bring about big changes in how we live since we were hunter gatherers. No ethnic group around the world can claim an “original” homeland anymore, including the aborigines in Andaman or in Papua New Guinea. People need to be educated about this and the one-ness of entire humanity and not fall into trap of "one group is more exclusive/superior than other". Ironically, isn't this what "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" is about which we Indians are so familiar with? We shouldn't judge history by today's moral standards. History should be accepted as it is without any shame - be it good or bad. Glory of our ancient past doesn't become any less, and I am still proud of our Aryan forefathers. In conclusion, I would like to say that choice of words do matter as it has the power to send subconscious messages when we hear them. The words "invasion / raiders / annihilators / barbarians" isn't the right one to use for reasons mentioned above - context and history should be taken into account as well. Historians have a moral responsibility to be sensitive to perceptions created by the words they use.

One criticism: a respected school of thought in India argues that the Vedas were revealed to the earliest humans and so are devoid of history and geography. So, the mantras referring to Saraswati cannot be about a river; and Panini grammar translates the meaning of that word as God as the source of knowledge acquired mystically. I noticed that as well. In Greek they are called Oi Danaoi (rendered into English as The Danaans). They would have lived too late to have migrated westward into Europe. If this was the case, we would expect to see traces of the Greek language in these areas (which doesn’t exist). The more likely explanation is that some of these people settled in Greece, and some continued further west.

@@vsn1333 R1a1 is the most widespread in india than Europe. The modern day Europeans are not similar to modern day indians because of various reasons. The OIT is true but it is limited to a certain geographical location. You should understand that the R1a1 lineage originated in the region between north western india and persia a long time back during prehistory. Europe was still inhabited by various groups of tribes who spoke different languages unrelated to indo European languages they speak today. The basques, Finns, Etruscans etc.and many similar tribes were the native people of Europe for a long time. Even modern day greece was inhabited by mycenaean civilization which was a very different people than hellenistic culture. All of this native people have surely in a huge amount contributed to the DNA of modern Europeans. The sanskritic speaking people from south asia migrated in a smaller numbers possibly around 1000 individuals divided in different clans. These people intermixed with the native tribes of central and west asia giving rise to the PIE people which further migrated westwards giving rise to the modern day Europeans. Europeans have a smaller number of R1a1 whose frequency ranges from high to low depending upon region. This is the reason why Europeans evolved differently than south asians. So it is safe to say that culturally and to some extent genetically vedic peoples influenced ancient Europeans. But racially we still are different from them. So this OIT theory should just settle the dispute of aryan dravidian bullshit but in no way Europeans are Indians. In vedic times people or community who didn't follow vedic dharma were called mlecchas. The Europeans are of mixed race and thus mlecchas. I think this helps.
