Need to do this, not done it since we bought the MH just flush it through a couple of time before use. Ships have potable water tanks and they get opened up inspected and cleaned periodically, however generally chemicals are not used.. Thanks for the tip.

That's a nice way if you have access to your water tanks like you do. My coach doesn't have that option. I have a Class A. Good video for those who have your option.

great informative video. funny at the end that's what people expect it to taste foul we also use puriclean .your water goes down the sinks quickly ours does not is it because ours are concertina pipes and yours are solid we do clean the pipes and waste water tank

No after taste. There's no water filter in the system. There's a surge damper and I've never touched that.

Is that unusual to have a black plastic fresh water tank? I've had 3 motorhomes, A 2004 Bessacarr, A 2014 Bailey and a 2009 Frankia and all of my fresh water tanks have been the clear plastic, all of my grey water tanks have been black. Nice vid though thanks, I've always used Lemon juice and white vinegar as I don't like the idea of running chemical products through my boiler even if they say its safe to.

Great vid! About to install the water system in my van so this will really come in handy... Do you ever use this stuff to clean out your filling hose too? I'd be worried about doing all that cleaning and then squirting a load of bacteria back into the system via the hose!

Hi Bob, do you ever sanitise or soak the shower head in hypochlorite as these would potentially be main risk for legionella bacteria, especially if it hasn’t been used for an extended period

No, but I do run the solution through the shower head. Something we don't do at home and I suspect many households don't. Also the motorhome is in constant use, as is the shower head. The Puriclean solution "Affectively eradicate bacteria, viruses, bio-film, algae and fungi for maximum results simply soak and flush. Perodic use will ensure a clean healthy system for water storage."

@@BobEarnshawMoHo As you say, the fact that there is constant water usage in the shower effectively eliminates the issue. I used to work in Environmental Health and did some shower sampling for legionella. the only time we isolated it was on a ship which had cabins where the showers hadn’t been in use for months and the water had therefore been standing for a significant period.
