It's not a guarantee that Ben Johnson will be a successful head coach. There have been plenty of offensive coordinators that have gone on to become head coaches and didn't have the same type of success. The Raiders have hired a few of them...Josh McDaniels, Norv Turner, Lane Kiffin, Hue Jackson; some might even throw Jon Gruden onto that list

AP has essentially been a rookie HC this season, and he has made his fair share of errors. But as was said, the bigger mistakes was hiring Getsy, and starting Minshew. Of course the injuries were huge, but those aren't on any coach. I'd give AP another season with everything else kind of in place. Sure, AOC may be a bridge QB for a developing rookie--we just don't know how all of that will play out.

I have a different thought on the whole "your HC should be your playcaller" discussion... if you get an elite, intelligent QB, then it really doesn't matter. Look at the NE dynasty - defensive HC and a carousel at OC. The Super Bowls rolled in regardless, because Brady ran the offense, not the OC... and it was a similar tale with Tomlin in Pittsburgh when Big Ben was in his prime. The big difference here is - your QB won't leave if you're successful (they'll just want lots of money). Sure, it's a lottery win if you get both - like Reid + Kermit, but that's unrealistic... if you can't find that elite HC/playcaller then you're better off getting a great leader at HC and an offensive genius at QB, rather than trying to hit on OCs over and over again. It wouldn't be easy, obviously, but it is the only route I can see to long term success if your HC isn't your playcaller.

We got super lucky being able to draft Brock at 13. Definitely a franchise changing player. I wanted to draft Hunter this year and Dillion Gabriel in second round. Hunter is a franchise changing player also. Then sign a free agent QB, let Dillion sit a year and off we go. We got a ton of money in cap space. Bowers IS that guy.. but that also says a lot about our WR's. TE's dont catch this many passes because there are typically 3 other receivers plus a RB to distribute the ball to on any given pass play. Imagine if we had a true DOG at WR1 or at the SLOT to free him up even more. I dont like Vrabel as our potential HC .. but I'd take him any day over AP. You need a legit HC that’s it man doesn’t matter if he calls plays or not we need someone that has a vision of what a team should be and know how to accomplish it not like AP that just did a bunch of talk and did nothing about it. Mike Tomlin doesn’t call plays and has been a successful HC for like 20yrs now so yeah we just need a legit HC that’s it.

Does anyone else notice that when Aidan is playing, the team seems to take it up a notch? Maybe it's just me. I know they play hard all the time, but there seems to be more when Aidan is starting. It's as if they feel they actually have a chance to win, and everyone brings their A game. Maybe it's just me.

Being part of the Raiders isn’t the same anymore. Just look at the crowd in the stadium. Sometimes it’s 50-60% fans of the other team. Oakland has become an awful city, but it’s home. There would never be the Las Vegas Steelers or Las Vegas Packers. There shouldn’t be a Las Vegas Raiders.
