Onegai My Melody is extremely comical and has great humor. People who can’t appreciate comedy should not buy the products. I think Sanrio was weak by not supporting the creative intellectual property of the franchise. Interesting video.

I watched the entire 4 seasons of this anime and it’s the funniest anime I’ve ever watched even from a newer generation. majority of the show is satire humor made in the 2000s. I wouldn’t buy the thing with the quote though, only because it would give others the wrong impression. It would’ve been more wise to choose another quote when considering how this generation must feel about it, and considering that it only represents the character

This is common for American viewers to take international shows out of context and going on woke twitter mode.. This is just what happens when a show overseas gets popular in countries completely opposites culturally and humorously. Japanese people have WAY different povs and gen z just can’t handle that 🤷‍♀️

as someone who watched onegai my melody, my first thoughts were that, yup this is def not a kids show why? excluding my melody's mama's toxic advice n all there were some eps which covered some topics that were not really meant for kids. excluding uta's neighbour there was also an ep from season 1 where uta's classmate wished she had a better body (in the sense that she wished to look more busty, the ep was literally called "i wished i had a better body!") obviously it talked about body dysmorphia but at a mild level. but not only did she want a better body but also better hair, facial features etc. moving on lets talk about kuromi's parents. in season 2 kuromi reveled more about her relation w them. in season 1 she didnt talk much about them since she didnt quite like them but later on, it was reveled that kuromi's mum would just cry half the time due to the way kuromi turned out n also the fact that kuromi's dad was a drunk but did later on quite in order to make kuromi come back home. later on in season 2 when hiiragi's mum made an appearance jun points out that his mum never really focused much or even paid attention to him much n that hiiragi would always get all the attention (child negligence) n kuromi agreeing w him saying that her mum doesnt quite her her either (again this was just kuromi's assumption). again in season 3 when kuromi n my melody fight over hiiragi on who would take him, kuromi says that she'll take him to her place making my melody question if she made up w her parents which in result kuromi responds to herself saying that "oh i just remembered i dont really come from a happy family" (it has a double meaning to it) these were my thoughts on the show i mean the show should have be towards early teens n such but its still a great show for a good laugh (reminder that these were just the points i remembered im sure there would be more of it as to why it cant be a kids show)

Oh noooo Im 30 secs into this but is it bad I lol'd at this. Tbh I was 12 around the time Onegai Melody came out (i am an old lady hahaha), and I remember finding aspects of it abit sexist. But that also wasn't terrifically unusual for anime at that time period? (And Western animation too, but Japanese media tended to pull out some really blunt lines.) Anime could be quite egalitarian and then it just...hits you with a line you'd expect from a Edwardian housewife guide. I haven't watched as much anime as I used to so I don't know if that's still the case. But yeah...yeaaaah. And I went on a tangent lol. I'll finish watching this and leave another comment ahahaa
