I don't think it's the point of this fangame.. but I actually find a similar idea for an Alternate Universe intriguing. A universe where Sans manages to free the monsters from the underground, and becomes a sort of dictator thanks to his extreme power, raising all of monsterkind across the world into a Nation against all humans in a bid for revenge for everything humankind has done to them, like the long war and being sealed underground. Failing to realize his irony in starting a new war when the last only led to endless suffering and with the monsters being imprisoned thanks to being blinded by his own hate. And in that universe instead of the usual Chara that despises humanity enough to throw themselves down a mountain, they're raised under the monsters oppression and instead strike out to eliminate Sans as a commando of sorts in revenge for humanity.

Don't really know why people are making such a big deal out of this. Yeah, it's in poor taste if anything, after all it's still a SANS FANGAME about the worst event in history, but it's not like there's a ton more games about that subject, more accurate or not. And the important thing is Sans isn't portrayed as some cool badass villain, he's an evil dictator through and through. "Untermensch" literally means "subhuman" in German. He says you weren't born with the right blood. There's flavor texts saying "Smells like millions dead" and "The man behind the genocide". (Although admittedly the average 10 year old Undertale AU fan will probably just interpret that as "haha under table genocide route reference!!"). And honestly, those that don't understand these things probably don't even know who he's supposed to be. ...anyways, the ost goes really hard they popped off I'm ngl
