I wouldn't worry about scuffing the parts too much as long as the finish doesn't expose bare metal, they're going on the car & cars are meant to be driven. They'll be scuffed sooner or later. Really appreciate you showing how little effort a "high-effort" restoration can take with some patience. I've completely lost track of where we are in the build now though.
@sansberlin

Appreciate this man. I try to keep it as genuine as possible, but the power of editing takes a lot of the “high effort” out. A lot of these individual 3 second clips are actually 20 mins of me frustrated.

Love this series, and it's so satsifying to see those powder coated parts brought back to life. It's gonna be so amazing once this is all done and you've got a car that you've personally torn down and restored/rebuilt piece-by-piece, something that is in tip-top shape due to your own efforts. Can't wait for the next one.

Amazing video, Sir! I've been following on your project for a while now, and I was wondering where do you search to gain knowledge on a very niche project car like the corolla, and how do you source the spare parts?
@sansberlin
@sansberlin 5 ай бұрын
Good question.. The car is really simple to work on, so 90 percent of youtube videos about any part of the restoration, in this case restoring a driveshaft, were the same process. The 10 percent that is specific to only this car I usually find answers in the original repair manual that i found on eBay. Many of the parts I've found easily on RockAuto, best site ever, but on more niche parts I've joined a Facebook group for TE27 owners, I tracked down the original camshafts from Greece that way. There's a site called Toy Head Auto, they have some parts. 3rd party parts can be found at Techno Toys Tuning, but that's more racing oriented. and of course eBay, there's a big following in southeast Asia for this car, so lots of parts, and cheap!

Just use heat instead of cutting everything
@sansberlin
@sansberlin 5 ай бұрын
When these are installed they're done one cap at a time, same with disassembly, it was just a headache to put it back through the same hole, and the parts were being thrown out anyways. There were many instances of using heat in previous episodes where I kept the parts. Thanks man
