I also am super impressed. That you take the time to respond to so many of your viewers questions and comments. I know that it must take a lot of time to do this. Most KZbinrs don't take the time that you do to reply to questions and comments. It is greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much for saying that. First thing in the morning just after I get out of bed I normally respond to comments. I get my coffee and start typing. Thanks again and I hope that you have a good day.

I love the fact that Sansui had the speaker and rca plugs on the sides of the unit. It simplifies the hooking of plugs and wire by not having to completely pull out the unit from a shelf or other setup.
@vintageaudioaddict4 жыл бұрын
Yes, that's true and it made for a neater installation with those cable channels. I'll be posting a new video later today of my Sansui G-9000DB which also has the side panel hookup's. Check it out if you get the chance.
@glennewdick4 жыл бұрын
the location on the side is a bit of a pain to be honest. you need much longer cables and you can not put anything to close on the side as the cables stick out. also limits the location in your rack system or shelf. hard to hide the cables as well.

I noticed you don't have a patreon account in your description. I was curious why you do not have a patreon account. You're the first KZbinr that I would consider donating to a patreon account. I'm sure you can tell this is a compliment I thoroughly enjoy. And have been binging. On your repair videos Thank you in advance.

Thank you for your very kind words. I didn't start my channel to earn income. I have a passion for vintage audio equipment and I thought it would be a challenge to put a KZbin channel together. Where I could pass along my passion, entertain and get other vintage audio enthusiast's thinking about how vintage audio equipment was/is a part of their life's. Thank you again!

I am super impressed with your dedication to restoring older audio equipment. I remember much of this stuff growing up and love the looks of this preamp and the BA-5000. Very awesome. I never see stuff like this pop up on craigslist or Facebook marketplace. You must be located in the hot zone for this stuff to come up like it does.

Thanks a lot. I obtained most of my equipment years ago. In today's world you can find vintage audio equipment but it's pretty pricey. One thing that I have found over the past few years is that more and more of the vintage equipment is failing after 30. 40 or 50 years. It's broken and there are few people that can fix it. I do still get some equipment because of that.

@@vintageaudioaddict I have a Toshiba SA-7100 that I bought 30 years back second hand. Was doing fine until a hum started. It's on my list behind my Luxman M-117 TP-113 and Pioneer RT1023L

Great videos! I have an AU-9900 that I bought "in perfect condition", where the left and right channels keep dropping out. I am hoping a re-cap and transistor change will fix the problem. It looked like a scary proposition to re-cap that beast, but your videos have given me the confidence to do it as it is not nearly as complicated to take aparr/put back together as it looks! Damn Japan designed amazing electronics. Damned shame that "made in Japan" quality is a thing of the long gone past now....

Hi, do disconnect the red wires from pins 01 and 06 on the F-2566 and connect them in series on milliamps mode? i.e. 01 and 06 with two multimeters. Thank you.

Dear sir I have watched the videos of this Sansui Au-9900 with great interest. I have just purchased the smaller AU-6900 but it has problems at the output stage. The left channel becomes weak and noisy (pops and static). It has 8 NEC power transistors (NEC B545A, D118A) and 4 NEC transistors 2 x D382 and 2 x B537... I need to find these parts or equivalent parts. Where can one buy them? Are they sold as tested "pairs" with the same characteristics? Please help!!!!

Hello, how are you? I need the output transistors and the Sansuo G5700 icitators. Would you have it for sale or would you know of any contacts? Here in Brazil I can't find them. I also need those two plates that come out of the price plate, and go to the dicipator, where the output transistors go. If you can please help me.

Hi, I'm sorry if I'm bother you, and feel free to ignore me. I have an AU 11000A and you inspire me to do something like you did on this 9900. But it have a bad functioning. The left channel look like it have some issue. Sometimes looks like have only dirt on volume controller. But other times I feel like is another issue. I need only set de audio louder, and the sound get right. Have you ever had a problem like this? Best regards. How you can see, English is not my first language, lol
@vintageaudioaddict4 жыл бұрын
Your not bothering me and your English is very good. Most intermittent problems like that are caused by dirty controls. First before you start any restoration on your AU-11000 clean the controls with deoxit. Dirty controls can cause all kinds of intermittent problems that can take you around in circles. You should straighten out your existing issue first.

@@Hauraki121 Your welcome, Just make sure that you exercise each of the controls 30 or 40 times after using Deoxit if you are to obtain it. Good Luck!

When using your 3200 a analyzer bench testing into 8, ohms Do you ever check into 4 Ohms? I'm guessing you're Sansui amp is rated for 8 or 4? Like my Sansui g-9000 DB is?
@vintageaudioaddict4 жыл бұрын
I do have 4 ohm load resistors and I should start putting them into my video's. I try to keep most of my video's in the 15-25 minute range. When I first was setting up my KZbin channel I checked other channels that were doing a similar theme to what I was doing. There were many video's that were in my opinion just to long. 60+ minute video's that I thought should be 20 minutes. I get it.....KZbin pay's creators by viewing hours so most creators make their video's longer then probably necessary. In my case income is not the number one goal. I try to make my videos interesting in a shorter time frame. In my video's I try to mix it up with restoration, repair and some eye candy. Have a beer or a cup of coffee and be entertained for a few minutes.
