I’ve worked at this school, in this classroom a month ago and I had to step back from this site. The special education teachers are HORRIBLE. The aides, the front desk staff, admin etc. I reported what I seen and I’m NOT shocked about this incident. A deeper investigation should be conducted on all SpEd classes in this school.

We had a special education teacher like this in Orange back in the late 1990's. She had tenure..they protected her and after the parents took turns sitting in her class every day and made complaints to everyone they could think of. Finally, she was moved to another school.

My sister works with special needs kids and she says it stresses her out and she has to take medication and she also shes a therapist. I dont get why she decided to do that especially since she grew up saying she hates kids and doesn't want any.

People think it's easy to just give them busy work, but it's not. Every child has different needs, accommodations, goals ECT... Many choose it because of the slight pay increase and benefits. Whenever I witness something inappropriate, the first thing I do is email administration. They usually don't do anything, but I did my part. If something were to happen, I can always protect myself by having a paper trail.

Special education teachers have various duties, including: Creating and organizing classroom materials and lesson plans for students Adhering to state teaching curriculums and administering state examinations Providing emotional, educational and personal support for students and families Participating in or planning school events Working with developmentally challenged or otherwise impaired students to reach educational goals Identifying behavior patterns and discussing challenges with parents Providing insight for parents on how to handle challenging behavior Participating in staff meetings and professional development opportunities Ensuring the safety and comfort of students in the learning environment Identifying areas for improvement in students. I don't consent teacher can yell, mocking, threaten any kid

Those kids can be harmed for a long time with that frightening behavior. The classroom aides should have tattled on her long ago. A lot of the time they’re afraid to but the district should make sure everyone knows to report harmful behavior.

It takes a heck of a lot of patience to work with kids with special needs! If you don’t have patience, or the heart to work with them, then do them a favor and do it!! These kids deserve to be treated with dignity and respect just like children without special needs deserve to be as well.

😡 I'm the dad of that little girl. I am emotional stressed out about this. Did that little girl has been through a lot. She almost died in my arms and now she's going to throw this.😡 Im so traumatize from all this and it brought memories when I had her in my arms.😡 She will be more traumatize then me and her mom. Im afraid that this district and school will not protect my little girl add other kids. I'm traumatized that this district do not want these kids to learn the good things in life and this is a perfect example what does district teachers are educating these kids to become worse. 😡 No wonder kids do not want to go to school.😡 I really have more to say? This is a special class, investigate before comment. This teacher had a 4-5 team with her in that class and they suppose have been study and trained to give care and education to special needs kids.

the 1st piece looks like she's simply lecturing a student, but that could also go wrong depending on the student. In defense of the student aides, the teacher has all the power and it's THEIR classroom because teachers are the credentialed professional; I can understand how student aides can see this as merely harsh lecturing. The teacher is basically their boss and you're their servant; I know because I used to be a minimum wage aide. Each teacher has their own teaching and discipline style on how to run things. As an aide you will generally go along with how the teacher runs their classroom, the person who evaluates your work will discuss with the teacher(s) you work with. @1:44 okay, that's weird lol but also as an aide, reporting stuff to the principal will just get you annoyed looks because you're also making the principal's job harder. I remember I sent an e-mail to the principal to let them know an incident happened and I consulted with protection services. The following work day she called me into her office before work to have me explain what I heard a student say and what I did to follow up on it, she just looked annoyed at me the entire trying to see if I made more work for her or not. Basically I only called protection services for consulting services to see what I should do, not to make an official report (which is probably what my principal [work evaluator] was probably worried about). Working school jobs is scary and hard when you're at the bottom of the food chain.

I just did a incident report on Friday because one of the aids in class was threatening my 12 year old daughter that if she yawned again she was going to flick a candy in her throat so she could choke and she also told her that she was going to beat her up if she didn’t do her work

You wouldn't "back" the teacher if she had done this to your child. She was making fun of one of the students and she was risking the well being of the other one. This emotional abuse, and mom does know how to speak English, and so what if she didn't? She has the right to speak up and defend her son . She's not looking to get money. She's advocating for her son and the rest of the students who have been mistreated and abused, especially for children who can't defend themselves. This is to let people know that this needs to stop and that this kind of actions will no longer be tolerated.
