From here Justify ended up winning the triple crown. He had a slop fest at the Kentucky Derby...he had a slop fest and a fog annoyance at the Preakness, and just today, he had it easy in the Belmont.

I’ve looked at every major prep race leading up to the KD and I try to beat Justify I just don’t see how this horse looses he a freak I think he better then American Pharaoh and win the Triple Crown....

Just occurred to me who Justify looks like physically. Easy Goer. Got the size and color. Does he have that super overdrive closing stride though?

Early fractions slow. Yes, he's talented but I don't think if he tries to lead the derby that he'll get the distance. Personally, I believe Bolt d'Oro should have caught him in the stretch but the sharp cut in towards the rail at the top cost him some energy and momentum.

They know they have they have the best horse. Was not challenged in any way. Left a lot in the tank. I suspect he will trail just off the pace around the corner at the KD. Then Mike Smith will let him go. Mike Smith will unleash his true potential around that last corner. He will cruise to victory if Smith wants or obliterate the field down the stretch if Smith wants. Depends what Baffert wants him to do.

No doubt about JUSTIFY is a great colt, but without fight... 23.96? 47.85? 72.61? And on one of the fastest tracks in the world? In the Derby, he'll have to chase 22.80 - 46 - 70.40 , and not against 4-5-6 colts, but 19! He'll be my first pick in the Derby, but I wouldn't be so sure he'll be the winner as many people think.

Eduardo De Jesus. My home Track Santa Anita I was raised there. I think he will win if everything goes right he is without a doubt the best 3 year old in the world. However against 19 others getting bumbed and shuffled not always the best Colt wins. You sound like a true horsemen. I think he has the rider trainer and talent to get the job done but I sure hope I get bettet than 3/5 like today.

do you know track bias?? the track was slow sat...sprinters who go 1 15 for 6f went 1:17...this race comes up fast if u know horse racings figures

Justify wont win derby. He looks good but I think Mendelsson and Audible will be trouble for him. The speed in the derby is setting up to be a scorcher with Flameaway included.

That horse had some unbelievably slow fractions.... if you set the pace like that it's easy to win.. great horse but I'm scratching my head as to why they didnt push the pace

Buckhunter05 #BigBucks The reason the splits were so slow is that the track has been playing very slow and heavy for quite awhile. This horse went 21-44-109-121 for 7f in his debut! No worries, Justify is that good, he can wire or sit off, dirt, mud, dosent matter! I believe this is the horse to beat the first Saturday in May!

tony vargas I don't see it partner...when you say heavy I think muddy it definately wasn't and the track is in no way deep... the real prep is Sat in the Arkansas derby

Buckhunter05 #BigBucks Bucks, I dont know if your familar with Santa Anita, have you heard of track bias? There are also numbers given in each race in the racing form for every horse, example 80-10 this would mean a fast track or example 70-33 this would be a off, deep or muddy track. Anway, guarntee this is probably the fastest horse entered in the Derby, but dosent have to wire the field, can sit off, track and go on out of the far turn. There were no horses in this race that could run early vs Justify other than Bolt, agree tht there were only two good horses in this race. Who do you like in Arknsas? Ill stick with Justify!

tony vargas a bias is usually a certain part of the track being faster than the other. Why would a bias matter when your referring to the entire track? Magnum moon is typical pletcher progression at its finest but I can see a quick pace so anything can happen

Buckhunter05 #BigBucks Just saw a u tube video , Justify got a 107 beyer for the Santa Anita Handicap and his timeform rating for this race was higher than any timeform rating that American Pharoah in the triple crown races, American Pharoahs best timeform rating was in the breeders cup classic, and it ties Justifys Santa Anita Derby! 125 TF rating. Justify also was reported to have thrown a shoe in this race and Bolt grabbed a quarter, front huf cut by back hoof hitting it, wasnt Bolt the early favorite for the derby? ,,looked to me that he was all out and still could not catch Justify. You have to admit this horse is talented, wins SA Derby in , only his 3rd start! Need only get another eigth of a mile, love his chances!

This is his 4th start against the so called best 3 year old in the world? And he put a distance on Bolt D'ro. I dunno about audible. I will have to look. Buffert is one of the best trainers in the world. He will keep Justify healthy and happy. I feel this is the horse to beat.

SlayCityUSA, not really a tough time because they rarely send any, except for O'Brien of course who usually sends a third rate horse, but not this year of course as he has a big chance with Mendelssohn. The KD is not second rate and i apologise for that, it's a race on dirt which is alien to European horses, just like to add some of my favourites have won the KD - Affirmed with the great Steve Cauthen, Spectacular Bid who should have won the triple crown in '79 and Sec of course who is arguably the best ever, respect

The European trainers just dont get it...the derby is OUR biggest race they look at it as another race..they train the same do everything the same...they need to get over here weeks before the derby not days to be taken serious...that being said mendelssohn was impressive...if he can rate on dirt like he did in bc juvenile turf he certainly could buck that trend...speaking of trends non raced 2yos dont win the derby

Joseph Federico Let's see what he does in Baltimore in 2 weeks.Some trainer (Pletcher)most likley going to stick a rabbit in the Preakness as an entry so Justify doesn't coast to a lead. Let's see if justify can be rated as he has yet to prove so,before jumping on the hype train. Still gotta give mike alot credit he rode justify like a master and did something not accomplished since 1882.

TheRedBaron Lives! Pletcher in the Preakness? He typically bypasses that race if he doesn't win the Derby and gears up again in the Belmont. Not sure how you arrived at your opinion?

Before the Florida Derby they said Audible was working out slow. Now he is unbetable in the KY Derby because he was weaving all over the track the last furlong in a race he won by five(5). Keep drinking the Justified koolaid! Make Justified the 2 to 1 favorite and I will GLADLY take 4 to 1 on Audible(if and only if Johnny V is riding him).

I am sure Todd Pletcher will get it straightened out(no pun intended) before the Kentucky Derby. If Johnny V rides Audible then that's who The MeatMan will be betting. Johnny won the Louisiana Derby, Florida Derby and Wood Memorial. I like Audible the best of the three(3). If Johnny feels the same that's who I am going with. End of story.
