The West Coast Kustoms Cruisin' Nationals at the Santa Maria Fairpark. The weather was perfect for this long running show that features thousands of pre-1965 custom cars, hot rods, traditional rods, rat rods, and classics. Folks come from all over the world to attend this annual event.

There really isnt anywhere on the internet where you get to see cars like this on long take video,s and accurate camera work. Steve in Australia. Beautifull paint jobs again, the 56 nomad from Hawaii looked nice.

Happy birthday mate and hope ya mum gets well, you mentioned she was ill. Anyway you encouraged me to buy a pickup. At the airport in sydney now flying down to melbourne to pick up a well used 1992 GMC sierra 1500 extra cab. And a new paint job and 20 inch wheels i can have a beer or 3 and pretend i am at them shows. Great videos mate. Love em anx watched some 3 times. I told all my friends to like, subscribe and share. At the 1 hour 25 min 25 sec mark there's four cars, all built by Mike Bello's of San Diego. His personal 36' Ford Delivery, a 37' Ford he just finished for a client, another client's Ford he finished a couple years ago and a yellow 1950 GMC COE he wrapped up in March, sitting on 2002 Chevy HD frame with custom air bags. Mike, It's still cold and icy here in the OZARKS, I'm living vicariously by watching your channel, last night the Santa Maria cruisin Nationals--that was great, the pre 1965 cars, this year we may drive my 1955 Nomad out for that show. We purchased it last year, it came from Modesto Ca. and we were told it was a background vehicle in the American Graffiti movie, (1 hour and 7 min. into the movie). There's no way to prove, because George Lucas did not register the vin# on background car's. Anyhow it's a goo9d story and you can see the car in the movie. Thank's for the work you do with your channel. Wayne

I've rented vehicles for movies and TV. Nobody really keeps records of the background cars. In the old days many star cars would be sold off after the production.

There were so many cars at this show that I decided to do a broad sweep of some of the lines of vehicles towards the end. There was no way to shoot everything. Keep in mind that I spent six hours there.

Some business should make a drive in food place where you can only come eat there if you have a classic car and have 50 to 60ties music playing.

I sub a few car channels so I don't know if I've stated this here or not, but that is that what I don't personally care for is when they, unnecessarily, are cleaned and shaved...no door handles...the emblems, badging and brightwork removed....and/or the interior redone in a modern style.......to me, it takes away from the originally designed style and attention to detail that was put into these classic cars! That's not to say that I don't enjoy and respect customs....I surely do...like that '60 Chevy that you "couldn't do justice to"....very nice, and all that custom work doesn't clash with the antiquity of the car...it really works. There's also the condition of the vehicle when the work began, to consider; perhaps it was lacking emblems, handles...had extensive damage, etc....in which case, pretty much any customization is justified, so to speak. All that being said, I would certainly never berate any owner or vehicle for it being what it is...it's just the way I feel.

Back then the car companies tried to one up each other. These days they all just go with similar looking designs so It's hard to tell them apart.
