Santa Cruz is something special man, I was a sponsored skateboarder for 17 years got boards from Toy, lived with Billy marks and what have you. I wish I could be a part of their program now.. I’m 38 though haha but I’ve never seen a company make me emotional and grateful to be a skateboarder than Santa Cruz. Thank you guys ❤

A big piece of advice I would give is don't let your fears hold you back . If your afraid of skateboarding in contests then start doing them early on so you get used to the pressure. If your afraid of moving to a better place for skating, forget your worries and just go for it , it could be the exact change you needed to meet the right people and film spots that will stand out to others .

Thanks for giving our kids great new avenues of accomplishment! I live in Kearny, Az and our kids need more options to increase their incredible talents. We had our second skate park fund raiser before thanksgiving and watched wonderful boarders from Cowtown Skate in Tempe, Az. impress the kids and give them one on one guidance! The town may be in line for a small windfall soon and I have skate park on the list or equivalent permanent interim solution. I am laughing because I thought my goal was to get them off the street but knowing that the streets give them the confidence they need to compete and watch their backs gives me a whole new dimension. Thank you and Santa Cruz. Our raffle winner was a little lady that was almost a little taller than her brand new Santa Cruz Skate Board and Black Helmet, both daughter and father were elated with the win and she made front page of our newspaper!

Is this something open to people outside of the U.S.? The reason I ask is that since Santa Cruz licenses their production in Brazil to Drop Dead having a video made for the Brazilian market might be an idea to get further brand exposure in that market. If it is open globally I'll definitely pass this along to my Brazilian friends.

If you wanna do a video on your phone you should use CapCut! iMovie sucks to make vertical videos. Plus Capcut has a lot more options and it is free, just make sure you cut out the ad at the end that it throws on there if you want. (I'm not sponsored by CapCut FYI :p)

Thanks for the tip! I will check that out. I actually normally use Adobe Rush on my phone, but I chose to go with iMovie for this tutorial just because almost everyone has it on their phone automatically

@@killatape Just tried it and I think you should try Cap cut especially if you do any DIY shooting as I use my tripod and then edit long videos so CapCut works better than Rush. Thanks for responding and thanks for all the Rad Content!

How to REALLY get sponsored: almost every industry is both nepotistic & reputational i.e. it doesn't matter how good you are if they just don't like you that much and you don't already know somebody to give that foot in the door. Oh also, you're not a person, you're a brand and your only value is how much money you generate for the company. If you're not marketable, it's not happening.

Hahaha! Not upset at all. Everyone has their own style and that's what makes skating rad. I was more focused on the "Sponsor Me Tape" aspect of editing, in which keeping it simple and to the point (short and sweet) benefits everyone involved. Appreciate you checking it out!
