Basically, everyone believes that their time was the best. But I think I'm one of the lucky ones in music history who are now 70, 75 and 80 years old and have been able to experience many great musicians and bands of the 60s and 70s live on stage. I am so grateful for that. Soul Sacrifice was and is a masterpiece.

1972 saw Johnny Neil (rip) and his brothers band play this at our high school at a Friday night dance. Since then I've always kept a watch for different versions played by Santana. As a drummer I must admit this is one of the best Definitely see where Michael Shrieve has jazz chops in his playing arsenal Notice although he is playing very aggressive, the drums aren't moving that much, he's in complete control, although the poor hihat got a workout

Carlos Santana said his drug consumption escalated after the national fame from the Woodstock film. The story is the band arrived by helicopter, but the schedule was way off, being this huge never before event? Santana was told they'd go onstage 6 hrs later, so the band dropped Mescaline figuring it would wear off for the performance? Within an hour they were told you guy's are on next! Look close at the Woodstock performance, Carlos's eyes are totally dilated! The entire band was peaking on Mesc! What happened after that whenever Santana toured the crowd expected the same veracity in the show! So they kept up the drugs in order to deliver!😊
