Santorini, Greece Royal Caribbean Eastern Mediterranean Cruise Day #5

Day #5 on the beautiful island of Santorini in Greece. In this video you can go right along with us on our adventure up the side of the cliff and to the beach. What a perfect day. We started by getting up really early and taking a tender (boat from the cruise ship to port) to shore. Pro tip: get in line early to be with the first groups off the ship or book an excursion for the best chance of getting to the cable cars before the crazy long lines start. We walked to the bus station, which is super easy and definitely cheaper than booking an excursion. We took a bus to the beach at Perissa and enjoyed a perfect day of fun in the sun. Expect a HUGE line of tourists trying to take the cable cars back down the cliff and if you don't like to wait, like us, you can walk down the 586 steps with the donkeys. Hi thank you for informative Video. Did you have to pay extra for the Transferboat?

​@@pteddythankfully the transferboat to shore was free and included in our cruise. If you choose to do an excursion, that transportation will start after you arrive on shore. They had a special line and separate board time for those who had paid for an excursion so they wouldn't be late but nobody paid for the transfer to shore. Once you get to shore there is a small fee for the cable car if that is how you choose to get up the cliff and that was a really cool ride. ~Dianna

We are looking at booking an Excursion called Explore Oia on your own, but it's only offered in afternoon (hours after we dock). Do you recommend skipping the Excursion and just get off on a tender ship and to the island asap and find our own way over to Oia?
