Been there twice.Its my favorite island and its soooo beautiful.When you look from high places its like christmas tree in summer night with all this multicolour lights.Greek food outside on the roofs of tradisional tavernas, romantic atmosphere, walks on the small paths and full of history.Santorini is in my heart...

Santorini is a beautiful place, but can get overcrowded when all the cruise ships arrived. We were there in April and it was cool and not too crowded for our hike. Happy journeys, John and Bev retirementtravelers.com/

Thanks for the video. I was there in August 2019, on a cruise, and it was hot. Walking around Santorini was beautiful. We did walk to the bus and up and went to the other town. We took the tram up and down from the docks.

I loved santorini. Unfortunately, I was on a cruise so didn't get to spend as much time on the island as I would have loved. Off season si definitely when I would want to return. The white paint store, i think you're on to something.

Oh you absolutely CANNOT hike in summer! We were there in July in 2019 and the temperature was close to 90! Since this was pre Covid the whole island was packed with tourists! Our son was 11 years old at the time… we have done some tough hikes over the years, but this just overwhelmed us. We pushed for 3 miles and then took the bus!

Great question and a tough one given so many options. We only visited 6. Our fave was Folegandros, but it is quite small. All were beautiful. To answer your question, we would say Crete. It is large, beautiful and has many options (mountains, beaches, ruins, towns, etc to visit. Be sure to check out our Crete video if you haven’t seen it.
