Sanyo CD player mechanisms found in Sanyo and some other brands are known to get a cracked gear. The gear is attached to the motor that moves the laser. The result of that is the player will randomly skip do to the crack in the gear no matter how good the CD condition is. The crack spaces out the teeth on the gear which causes the motor to get stuck so the circuitry keeps increasing the voltage until the motor has enough power to become unstuck and then over shoots which causes a skip to happen. A cracked gear can happen to any brand but Sanyo is more prone to it at least for my experience. Sony was smart and made there gear differently and I haven't had one of theirs fail on me yet.

The FM tuners in both of my Durabrand radios (CT-995 and CD-109) sound distorted or "warbly" on pretty much any station. I think this might be caused by worn out capacitors? Or they're just really cheap lol.

@@CorollaChronicles it could have something to do with capacitors.
