I'm from Zimbabwe I have been telling people that in central africa and Southern Africa there are more than 20 independent tribes that used to do dry stone walling scattered all across central africa and Southern Africa . There are more than 10 000 of these that have been studied and registered. There is volumes of encyclopedias explaining which monument belonged to which tribe. This I saw it in a library not long back in harare there are about 4 volumes. I tried googling these books but I guess no one has tried to upload or make a website with this infor.

Try to get a serious and trustworthy book on it. Personally I only have the history of Joseph Ki Zerbo, which, well, has its flaws. Okay, on Mali and Egypt you will find a lot. But try it for less famous topics. Even for Kush and Ethiopia it is difficult. Name Information not hidden in universities and archives or behind walls of money and I will be glad, to hear of it. But yes, it is ten years ago we searched for it. Our search was a reaction to an article in a newspaper, which described this situation.

*1:12 is a picture of otumfuo osei tutu II asantehene of the ashanti people. the picture used at 1:21 is also of a person of the ashanti ethnic group in ghana. the two pictures at 2:55 are of kings from the grassfields region of cameroon. i think the picture at 3:18 is of a king from the congo. i understand that the lack of pictures may be hard to work around, but i was wondering why these pictures were used, as they don't exactly provide an accurate representation of sao culture/history. nevertheless, thank you for this video!

Yes, and two ladies were from Kotoko ... however, as the civilization does not exist anymore, it is hard to find material .., 3D-animation would be required, but then again there are no basic Infos on how the people really dressed.. which would be again a subject of speculation

Are you going to do one for the nok people? Their influence can be seen in southern Nigerian art works. Could they be descendants from them
@skellagyook
@skellagyook 3 жыл бұрын
The Nok culture was just as old as the Sao (probably older in fact) but separate and in another part of Nigeria (central Nigeria), and had a different art style. So, not descended from them. But the Nok may have influenced some southern Nigerian cultures.

There is no Sao in southern Nigeria!! In northern Nigeria, there are Sao, the Hausa and the Borno
@dablaccseaproductions5279
@dablaccseaproductions5279 10 ай бұрын
@@skellagyook The fact that no one knows which tribe the Nok civilisation were may give reason to believe that black Africans from the Sahel or Sahara had some role in it. Don’t dismiss the theory of the Sao being connected so quickly. You’re doing African history a disservice by suggesting they can’t possibly have relation. I do agree that the Nok may have influenced later art in Nigeria such as Igbo Nri Bronzes, Ife Bronzes and Benin Bronzes though.

I wonder if the connection between Ancient Egypt and the Sao was a strong one, as well as the connection between between the Sao and Meroe in Kush. Maybe the remnants of the latter fused into the former.
@Pyrrhic537
@Pyrrhic537 Жыл бұрын
It's possible immigrants from Kush formed the Sao or the Sao were a satellite kingdom of Kush and included colonists and people native to the Logone Chari region. It's also possible that the Bantu were created from this assimilation of several groups from Kush to Cameroon and developed in Cameroon/Nigeria. The ancient Kushites definitely traded with Sao. There are records of Caravans going East. That trade will have gone both way's. Very sad the Sao were later crushed by Islam and descended into the less organised Sara people who were victimised by the Islsmic slave trade.

This is so funny since there were no Europeans on the planet 25,000 yrs ago and even if there were, they could not leave europe until after the second ice age which ended around 10,000 years ago. You people are so desperate to usurp history since you only became relevant when the romans made their way to Europe 100 BC and gave you literature and the arts, hitherto you were isolated from the rest of humanity including africa and the Middle east more or less an unlettered agricultural civilization, but carry on, we’re not even here.
